The Voice - Match preview Wrexham vs Bradford City Saturday 10th February 2024 3:00pm

As someone pointed out earlier about Parkys set up, unless we get more attack minded players on the pitch (particularly at home), I fear the season just peters out to nothingness. We have to go for it in a cultured way and that means getting Macdonald on the pitch from the start. Some of the hoofs were Sunday league esque yesterday.

Yes he did look “ bothered” hence my comment “ It’s getting to him” . He looked unwell compared to the Parky we know.

 

I thought it was ripe to bring him on….I actually posted it at half time. Mind you I also said get Cook off. What do we know.

Woa….And so were many of Wrexham’s . They got booed several times by their own fans in the second half .Even the Dick and Liddie commentators said so.

 

If they don’t go up they’ll 100% sack him but not now when they are 2 points behind autos with a game in hand.
Probably give job to Hughes if they do sack PP.

 

I was going to post this yesterday, if it wasn’t for cook missing another penalty, I don’t think he would’ve been as determined to battle through the defence the way he did and snatch the winner. Everything happens for a reason so they say

 

If he’d scored that penalty it’s likely Wrexham would have had enough time left to salvage a draw, especially if we’d sat back trying to defend it.

 

Ironically as with many past seasons we seem to match the better teams in our league yet fail to beat the weaker teams, let's hope as you say we can perform better and get maximum points from those 7 home games.

, that goes in Wrexham throw everything at us, but getting that quality goal in the 90th minute knocked the stuffing out of them.

 

That’s the story of Bradford City in the decades we have supported them Dave. It happened in every division we played in.

 

Many times to us and some quite recently, Carlisle semi final play off and although we didn't lose the Gillingham game that late equaliser felt like a defeat.

 

Good reply wetherby, the only point that I would disagree with is the Crawley penalty.
Cook hit a poor penalty straight down the middle with no pace as such (just like yesterday)
The 'keeper saved it - no question about that. However the ball stuck between his legs on the goal-line and in his attempts to collect it, he then knocked it into his own goal.
Therefore this was an own goal and was a penalty missed by Cook.
I am still of the opinion that Cookie should be rested from penalty duties for a while as when/if he steps up to take the next, he won't be feeling very comfortable - and either will we!

Odour I hate picking on one player typifies the mindset in this group. He’s clearly a talented lad, but he can’t do the basics consistently.

I imagine in a team full of players who do the basics - I.e can run hard, pass, find a man. You wouldn’t mind carrying him but because so many of them are really in my opinion poor players technically and physically don’t look up to it he just complies the situation.

Added to this he looks little uninterested in his body language he stands out in a pretty poor bunch.

Keep saying it but I wouldn’t miss not one of this squad.. not a single one.

 

If anyone wants to waste 30 mins reading comments made by bitter , lacking in football knowledge, supporters …Just go on the Wrexham forum.

They are as knowledgable as their owners.

Seems like giving credit no matter how small, to the opposition , isn’t allowed in Wales.

 

9 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats from the last 15 games and we take 7th place.
Yes it’s a tough ask but does anyone think we should throw the towel in now with mass fan protests and boycotting games? I don’t

 

I think more of my frustration is with regards the situation yesterday once again Alexander prefers Odour above Pointon, I do understand as a Bradford lad I may prefer a fellow Bradfordian to Odour but Alexander must have his reasons why he fails to bring Pointon on late into the game.
I though the forced change of McDonald for Richards was the turning point we looked a far better team after half time when Alexander dropped McDonald into midfield with Gilliead dropping back into Richards position.
Big test now is can we build on yesterdays result and take all 3 points from MK Dons, our home record suggest we wont but I'M the eternal optimist.
