Sad really that one of the very few pieces of attacking football came late in the game when McDonald was brought on, he played a great ball to Youngs feet just inside the box with his back to goal the lad had ONE TOUCH turned his defender and MADE the keeper work, I know many say the EFL Cup is a nonsense and a possible distraction from the league but I'd start all 3 of the kids Young, Chapman and Pointon and also McDonald against Doncaster next Tuesday night.

The real question here then is why has the whole team just dropped off the pressing game. And why can't the management team work it out. Worrying times.

Alexander shouldn't bite the bullet for the players he's inherited.
His after match interview tells me he can see that these players aren't up to what's required.
But the challenging thing for me is we need someone who can coach and improve players, not just an organiser and a motivator.
