    If it goes ahead, tonight will be the first match I've missed in some time but, given the weather forecast and the complete lack of information coming out from the Club (yet again), I've decided not to set off for this game, especially as I've already travelled up for it once already.

    [Saturday 9 December 2023 09:34 - City advertise the Salford match on social media, without a hint that there's a weather issue and replies from supporters (asking about the weather / state of the pitch) are ignored by the Club. Next thing there's a pitch inspection and the match is postponed.]

    It's been bouncing down with rain since around 9.30 this morning. Forecast is that it will continue. I will be amazed if this match is on and if it kicks off it might not finish, whatever the club is saying at the moment.

    The informal pitch inspection is the standard one that the referee does before each game to make sure the pitch is fine and also to check basic things like markings are right and the goals are at the right height. It also allows them to notice any areas of concern that they want to keep an eye on especially on days like today.

    This could be the first time in ages that a game kicks off and is then abandoned.
