Worryingly today, it remains to be seen if we are better off.

one of the respected north east journalists who supports us has tweeted that it was his understanding that a directors loan would have been required to fill a budget shortfall this year.

That, despite Sparks saying we had record commercial income this season and record turnover (for us at this level).

thats the problem with being "sustainable" and living from week to week. It doesnt work as a long term project.

Imagine for a second if Young had performed this season like last season, he'd likely be worth peanuts and that shortfall being £200,000 bigger.

Interesting, I have rumours about this elsewhere.

For 21/22, we lost £300K, which was nearly all down to paying off Adams.

So why would we have mounted a large deficit from the start of the 22/23 season - unless we did push the boat out for players?

I guess we'll need to find out when the finances come out, which won't be long away.

In fairness, clearly Rupp covers that deficit - but yes, it will be interesting how much of any transfer budgets he allows to be spent if we are, say, £500K in the doo doo.

Surprising, that if it's that bleak - why we didn't accept the first offer for Young, which suggests to me that perhaps Rupp is happy with it.

Its odd that Rupp also seems happy to keep sanctioning Sparks to change managers like his socks.

Wonder how much that has cost us in recent years? Has to be near on £1m hiring and firing left, right and centre

It’s the Julian Rhodes trainee apprenticeship scheme that Ryan Sparks is on. He is now in year 3 and will surely have completed his training when we are in the conference?

Make Rupp the money or make sure he doesn’t have to put any money in until he sells and he’s doing a perfect job.
A nodding dog yes man who chats rubbish in interviews with zero substance and has made every wrong decision he can make.

no football acumen never had and is a rugby league man.

if we carry on we will be relegated under this CEO and this owner. No club is too big to go down
