I went in the 2nd prem season to watch Stan stroll around in another defeat . His white kit was still gleaming when he was subbed on a very muddy surface. Might have been Big Jim’s first game ? Not sure.

We surely can't have played in the white kit if we were at Derby?

The point that ultimately gave us the hope we could stay up !

Not at all, more like 2 points dropped against a relegation rival when we were twice ahead in the game.
Paul Jewell showed in this match he didn’t really have a clue tactically.

Absolute rubbish man. We had lost six on the trot before that game, and getting that point gave us the confidence to win three of our last four and pull off a totally unexpected survival.

Without any shadow of doubt, that game, and that point, changed our season totally and resulted in us staying up.

Nah, that comment shows that some people don't have a clue but it most certainly wasn't Paul Jewell.

Was that the game Seth Johnson nearly chopped McCall in two on the halfway line and only got a yellow.

So an interesting subject for our club this game, many fans (Rightly so I'll add for various reasons) slam this competition, but our current situation with a new manager it's given us extra games at a good time beneficially for us. The income from the competition has to be taken seriously for a club like ours at probably the stage we are currently at, this competition could generate us £300/400k+ now providing this extra income was reinvested in the squad and not just swallowed up by the old bills to pay then this could be huge.
So what are peoples thoughts now at this stage?

Still the same before a ball was kicked, and judging by the attendances thus far that's what the overwhelming feeling is amongst our fanbase.

    1,900 - Liverpool u21
1,700 - Man City u21 (looked more like 300 in the main stand - people obviously buying tickets for points)
    1,700 - Barnsley (with 600+ from Barnsley)
    220 went to Grimsby

That being said, I reckon we'll take 500+ to Derby with it being a bit of a novelty/new ground.

If we won that and get a home tie in the QF then we might get closer to 3 or 4k at VP.

Genuine chance to get to Wembley. On a bit of a run with decent opposition I hope we turn out in numbers.

I will be going (I’ve been to most of the games in this competition this year), but so will others in my group who haven’t yet been even to a home game.
I think this could be one of those games where we take a surprisingly decent following

Ridiculous kick off time of 7pm, very little consideration to those working the usual "daytime" shifts

Probably sight Derby school night hence the stupid 7-00 kick off time to allow youngsters to attend the match.
The EFL want to see crowds for this competition increase but own goals like early kick offs simply put people off attending especially away supporters, regionalised or not.
