Yes I wasn't knocking him, certainly good enough to be in the team, but I think some have gone over the top. And yes hopefully he will get better with experience. Still, he quicker we get the ball to him the better chance he has to show what he can do.

However, I do think some teams have sussed him. Harrogate were the first. They know he isn't going to go on the outside so they can double up on the inside. This to me is his main failing. Notice on Saturday the 2 times we got to the line on the right and pulled a cross back, each time it was the right footed Walker. Smith scored from one and should have scored from the other, but for a wonder save. If Pointon can add this to his game (as Banks did after criticism last season) then he will be a much bigger threat. Or maybe we shouldn't play him in that wide right position?

 

Yes I know you wasn't knocking him mate, and I agree Bobby is painfully one-footed unfortunately. That is why I don't mind him switching flanks every so often, keeps the opposition guessing. But he is much better on the left for sure

 

We didn't play badly. Well let me re phrase that a bit, we played better than we have. We looked faster going forward.

The defence was a bit all over the shop for the first goal and the second was no better. But I think moving through the team there were some positives. Smallwood had a good game so did Walker. Pointon needs to get further away from Halliday who also had a good game.

Need a striker. Wonder if Ollie Palmer might be up for a loan move? With Wrexham having 5 million strikers.

 

Maybe play both him and Wilson and interchange them more. I like Wilson in that he can go both ways and isn't afraid to have a shot.

 

Possible GA Team with more pace post 1st Jan ?

He’s on 5k a week which would be a problem. Mullin wears his heart on his sleeve and always looks in danger of getting carded, so doubt they’d want to lose one of their cover options, the injury prone Fletcher being their other striker!

 

But I don't think this is the reason he hasn't played last month or the first half of this month. That's like saying that Afoka is unavailable for a few weeks, due to him having his wisdom teeth out.
