And to have such a big squad and no second choice keeper to push Lewis and no back up to Cook, when we knew Oliver was out for 4 months.
3 year deals to Odour, Smith & Wilson.
2 year deal to 35 year old McDonald.
All the loans have not been good enough.

    A shocking summer of recruitment.

Ridehalgh needs to retire. Gilliead playing out of position looked three times the player.

I think we're in more trouble than many realise. I said a couple of weeks ago that we may well end up in a relegation struggle and that still seems to me a real possibility. We simply don't look like scoring. Without Pattison we have no threat from midfield and our crossing today from wide was abysmal. When I criticised the resigning of Gilliead in the summer several people thought he was OK as a squad player but at least one (Northern Monkey?) said that if we found ourselves starting with Gilliead and Smallwood we would be in real trouble, and here we are. And what I find really difficult to understand is the difference between how players are rated by fans and by the professionals involved. Players like Taylor, Oduor, Oyegoke, and Osadebe were slated by fans of their previous clubs and they weren't far wrong. Worryingly, Graham praised Oyegoke and Osadebe in his post-match comments. I feel for the bloke because he seems a very genuine guy but I hope he realises sooner rather than later how very poor our squad is and, given the length of contracts that many are on how hard it will be to overhaul it, and that he will need to be pretty ruthless to get us at least safe before even thinking of progressing.

We were discussing that, Broncs, and ultimately I couldn't fault Alexander.

He was forced into 2 subs in the first half, and there wasn't a lot of point changing at half time, so that left him only 1 more sub opportunity. If he'd used it much earlier, it would have been asking for trouble.

So when he did change it, he made a double attacking sub, so I really didn't have any complaints with that myself.

I am absolutely sick of these pub teams coming here and celebrating like they've won the champions league at full time. That video on Twitter of Pete Wild celebrating today as he did last year makes my blood boil. Week after week, we allow teams to take the piss out of us in our own back yard but we are absolutely nowhere near fixing the problem.

For all the good will and effort, the quality is so far off it's frightening. I say frightening because we're only seven points off the drop. We aren't safe by any stretch.

We've scored more than one goal in only 2/17 league games this season. That is truly pathetic and isn't changing overnight. Teams that bad in front of goal only ever trouble one end of the table and it isn't the top.

Notwithstanding the importance of paying our respects in a national context, I'm sure there will be many people associated with our club who have died or been injured serving our country; right from Jimmy Speirs over a hundred years ago to more modern times.

New manager bounce then? Not at Bradford.
I didn’t see anything really to suggest that this squad will now fly up the league with a new manager. Unfortunately Alexander is going to need time to recycle this dreadful squad he has inherited. This season is a write off imo, the players just aren’t good enough.

Disagree here. He was poor when played out of position as a 10 but looked decent in the few games he's played on the wing

Hopefully starts with Richards at LB, Tomkinson at CB and Cook and Smith up front.

Ah yes, found it. So pleased that the club are doing this.

Bradford City AFC will host its annual Remembrance fixture tomorrow, when welcoming Barrow to the University of Bradford Stadium (3.00pm).

The Bluebirds will visit Valley Parade on Remembrance Day, in what is new City boss Graham Alexander's first game in charge of the Bantams.

The tie will see the two teams pay their respects to the fallen, over the 105th anniversary of the Armistice.

Both captains will lay poppy wreaths in the centre circle upon entering the field, before a period of silence is introduced by club chaplain, Pastor Oliver Evans, following a rendition of The Last Post, performed by Oliver Richardson.

Home players will carry poppies on their playing shirts, which are set to be auctioned off at a later date, with proceeds to be donated to the Royal British Legion.

We will also be joined by flag bearers who will be present during the period of reflection, while bucket collectors can be found around the outside of Valley Parade before the game, raising vital funds for Sea Cadets.

No sugarcoating it, that was garbage. I don't blame Alexander in any way, he'll now know the true extent of the job he first applied for. Constant failure from the guys above his command have left him with a bloated squad with no real purpose. As I first thought it may take him a couple of transfer windows to get a squad capable of undoing the damage left by the useless Hughes.

didn't take long did it, 1 game and the moaning starts. Hughes and his ego completely lost the plot this season and the next guy will unfortunately have to deal with the consequences.

Look the squad isn’t good enough and we have far too many players that are lacking in quality. I honestly don’t know what Sparks was thinking offer 2-3 year contracts to some of the shite we have.

GA already knows we have too many players but we have have to give him time now. However, with Sparks in charge I don’t know if any manager can address our problems

We are club hoping like Liverpool for example but the difference with Liverpool they got one of the best football managers in the world to carry them forward and the owners had a plan. So their net spend is low but the manager is great. Rupp has no plan, he doesn’t care and all is left to Sparks who is clueless when it comes to footballing matters.

No manager will turn us around unless GA turns in to Parky and gets lucky - has a plan and find players of quality that have desire and leadership qualities.

Bradford City is a complete mess!

Whilst we persist with Taylor we will continue to concede goals.

The fact he's 10 yards away from anyone when a goal goes in means he's absolved of any blame though apparently.

I agree. I felt a lot more absorbed in the game today than anything Hughes had served up so even though the result didn't go the way we wanted I genuinely feel some optimism going forward.

    Definitely NOT!!!
I'd rather employ Donald Duck to be honest.
Nowt wrong with Simmo though really, we've been slaughtered with injuries and suspensions, and to date nobody has wiped the floor with us. Take yesterday for example we were actually the better side, and it was a sodding deflected cross that undone us.
Anyway enough of my whinging as I'm starting to realise I'm sounding like Pete Wild. LOL
By the next home game we should be under new stewardship, with our all American super dooper rich family having at last taken over, oh I can feel it now.......... "WORLD DOMINATION IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER".
Bloody strong Beer is this I'm drinking tonight. :p

Your super dooper new owners don't have any rich friends with a penchant for wasting it on extravagant things like shite league 2 football clubs do they? Asking for a curious German league 2 club owner.....

It will certainly be interesting how Alexander sets his team up, obviously I want us to win but it would be great if we could win with a little swagger come 5pm, winning or losing Saturday will not define our season but a win and good performance would be great, I believe Barrow usually bring a decent following and make them selves heard.

Don't assume the season is a write off. We have to stay up.
