I am sure if there we’re serious bidders out there with decent money to buy the club and take it forward and Rupp was being completely unreasonable then we would hear about through leaks or possibly more openly. There is no point in discussing it really until such people come in for the club.

I thought we had a buyer according to Twitter a few weeks ago?;)

If there is one actually in the wings we will be the last to find out. That’s how it should be btw.

There was a buyer and there was a bid, not the £10m asking price but still more than the club is worth at present

    what is it worth?
surely that is the discussion the seller/buyer will be having.
The main person in that is the seller as until they agree the sale will never take place

It’s worth whatever the owner says. Either come up with funds or leave alone

Rubbish. My house is worth £350,000 if I said it was worth £450,000 I'd never sell it. It's worth what it's worth (and there are plenty of real Business Analysts who will be able o value such a business rather than Rupps finger in the air method) and not a penny more.

Plus they bought this club when we were in the league above and pushing for the Championship. A completely different club in terms of value.

Exactly. He only has himself (and Edin Rahic) to blame for the loss in value.

The loon paid 6 million for it so why he thinks its worth 10 million when our posistion is weaker is laughable. If he gets offered his money back then he should count himself lucky because going forward i think it may start costing him more unless he decides to get really involved.

Given the Bank of England Inflation Calculations, then £6,000,000 in 2016, would require £786,791.15 to equal the value. So £10,000,000 is totally off beam. https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy/inflation/inflation-calculator?number.Sections%5B0%5D.Fields%5B0%5D.Value=6&current_year=100.65975&comparison_year=131.997

How does that valuation compare with Morecamb’s valuation of £20 m ? I can’t get my head round it. Neither club owns assets, our club has 5 times ground capacity and probably four times the number of season tickets.

Either our club is cheap or their price is bloated. And they are still negotiating ?

Seller calls the shots unless he's desperate which now the club is self sustaining Rupp isn't. Any prospective buyer thinking they'll get a bargain needs.to think again.

Morcambe is a complicated sale as it includes the ground and land round it that although not owned by the club is owned by 2 of the directors who have to agree the sale. Without the land the buyer will walk away

True in a Bull Market, where prices and value are rising.

However, a bit like the current housing market where prices are falling, the sale of this club would fall firmly into a bear market - falling value/ falling prices and the upper hand would be with the buyer.

The thing that stops us being sold (if it's true that there are suitors, which I'm not convinced about) is the owner's refusal to accept that he has reduced the value of his asset.

I don't think we are inundated by potential buyers and there is work at play to "talk it up" by Rupp & Co, who are probably more desperate to sell than we think.

The thing that stops us being sold General is that Rupp doesn't need to sell. How long that will last if we continue to be shite like we currently are remains to be seen.

Rupp is trying to sell a £5 note for a £10 one. It may take some time

Yes I guessed there was land involved, supermarket fodder perhaps, so obviously the ground as well. That puts it on a par with us . So £10m is about right.
