    I agree.
    Walkers shot 1st half.
    The goal.
Wilsons pile driver and Cooks shot against the post and his header that missed by an inch.
Could have easily had at least 3 goals.
Pointon going down 1st half was a penalty also.

Thought Charlie Austin actually hindered the attacking side of their game today.
Missed a couple of good chances and spent so much time in their defensive third that he wasn’t there when they attacked.

"we showed purpose and not just effort"

That is a very insightful comment.

    Good win that.

Great to see the team battling.

Still think we lack quality but let’s get to January and address the problems.

What a game today . It was like night and day with that performance . The shackles were off and the press was really good .

not sure if anyone noticed that Wilson and Pointon were interchanging on the wings which was good to see.

I know Smallwood has come in for a lot of stick, but today he played and led by example . That was a captains performance. Let’s hope this is the first of many good performances.

I'm not sure we did ride our luck. For me we had much the better opportunities.

Yeah, Austin should have scored but that second one was a difficult chance as he was going backwards and had a defender diving in at him. They also had the chance that brought the superb reaction save from Lewis though so could have had a couple.

On the other hand though, Cook could easily have had a hat trick, Wilson and Osedebe went close from range and how that's not a penalty on Pointon I'll never know.

We could have had at least 3 on another day and with Cook on form and a kinder ref it might have even been 5! You could see why they concede goals today as they were poor defensively.

Great performance today. No criticism of anyone. As clear an indictment of Hughes' tenure as you could ever see. Long may it continue.

Was so refreshing to see the teams leader, stood on the touchline, shouting out instructions for the whole 90 mins.
Directing players who had moved from their designated place when out of possession so that no gaps were left.
Naturally Swindon had chances but in the end it felt comfortable.

The best moment of the first half for me was when they'd just cleared a corner and Ridehalgh, back peddling and facing his own goal just hooked it, 40 yards up and 40 yards long straight back into their area and it caused mayhem! That was the attack that we should have had the penalty from with Pointon being bundled over.

I think what was normal is both sides had big chances, which has been the case quite a few times this season.

It was better, for example, than the Stockport performance.

They seem to miss Young though. Two games in a row they've lost without him starting. Maybe he really is the difference?

I thought defensively they were poor as well.
Cook gave the smaller centre half a tough time and they just looked like an average Lge 2 back line when we hurried them.(a bit like us when we try to play it out)

I did think that the 2 smaller midfielders gave them a decent outlet with their pace and trickery but not impressed with their front line at all.
Stubbs comfortably coped with the pacey.number 11 by just holding back and then using his physicality.

Looking forward to the neg heads congratulating the team on a thoroughly excellent home display full of passion, guts determination and a real togetherness.

The post match interview with the gaffer really impressed me.

Talking about players being a certain distance from each other not to leave anyone isolated. Simple stuff but clearly effective. The whole team looked up for the fight and made cynical fouls when needed.

Defence was superb today and I think Stubbs won every header.

    The shackles were off.

Exclusive !!! I have heard the very complicated pre match team talk:
"Tw@t the ball forrads as much as you want and shoot whenever you want"

The crowd was excellent as well today. I cannot recall the last time I saw all three stands in their feet during the game chanting/cheering for the team.

The support for Lewis was class as well. Fab save second half to keep us in the game.

    Smiles all around.

I really hope the next manager see's what happened today and replicates it.

I loved it today and long may that style of football continue.

    I was thoroughly entertained today.

I'm not sure. He hadn't scored in 3 before the County game so hasn't scored in 4 before today.

Perhaps he's just had a purple patch that's now come to an end?

It was a definite penalty for me, just piled into the back of him.

I preferred our right side more when Oyegoke came on as a sub with Brad going mental up and down that flank, there just seemed a bit of chemistry there and would like to see Oyegoke get more minutes wide right.
The pair of them were making chances and dropping back to defend.
    Might have something here.

And they were fortunate with some of our horrendous finishing as well.

Pointon was tasked with the press and did it well. We often had 4 on the edge of their box when they had a dead ball.

Yes Walker shot and great save, Cooks header from Bobby cross and there was 1 or 2 in 2nd half.

That said, Swindon could have had 2 or 3 on another day.

We were good enough for the 3pts mind.
