PSG failing in the Champions League is probably because they rent from the city of Paris.

According to the reliable source of Wikipedia, Newcastle United own St. James’ Park, Chelsea Pitch Owners (who are a nonprofit organisation which is a part of Chelsea FC) own Stamford Bridge and Manchester City Council (who lease to Manchester City) own the City of Manchester Stadium.

Out of interest, how much would VP cost?

I wouldn't buy a football club. But I know enough about football to know that owning the stadium makes absolutely no difference at all to how successful that club could be.

The only time it would even be a consideration would be if I was looking to make a killing on the real estate.

It's a big fat non issue

Rubbish. We own the lease for full use. If Ed Sheeran did a concert here we would get every red cent of the money charged to use the ground.

We also use the offices, boxes, suites for hundreds of events a year, weddings, meetings, speed awareness courses, business groups, training courses to name a few

Reading the T&A it sounds like a couple of our players could have benefited from attending the speed awareness course. Wonder if they're booked in now for one before a mid-week game :)

Wrexham didn’t own their ground when the Hollywood folks came calling. Gillingham don’t either. It didn’t seem to stop them getting new owners

It's about time somebody had a word in his ear there is something badly wrong down there and it's nothing to do with the rent on the ground which folk bring up.
    Take us compared to Morecambe
Our season ticket sales dwarf there's
Our matchday income will easily outdo there's
Our season merchandise sales will comfortably out do there's .
So why are we playing second fiddle to the likes of them and other clubs that simply cannot compete with us but do.
What he actually waiting for ???? That we somehow pull of a miracle rise to the brink of the Championship and he can sail of to the sunset ????? Frankly we are nothing that level and it's not gonna happen until he pulls his head out of the sand and tries to fix the mess that he created in the first place

They probably went to clubs that wanted the going rate not over inflated prices :( Rupp bought a club for 6 million ???? That was on the brink of the Championship with near on 19k season ticket sales ............if he's wanting more than his money then we simply ain't gonna get a buyer and it doesn't a genius to work it out .............

Can’t believe you and those liking this post having looked into it deeply enough.

Once you do, get back with some common sense.

Rupp was sold a Vauxhall lemon he thought he was buying a VW he needed to put little into for it to do the business. His intentions are exactly the same of ours if we had bought a lemon and ripped off by a mate. He was mis sold a product he wants out and I don’t blame him for not ploughing millions into the most bonkers club in the country.

One thing he seems to have his he iis aware that the club means more to us than him and he’s not just thrown in the towel I’m just glad he didn’t cut his losses and sell to Wagmi

We have fans wanting their season ticket moneys bk ffs imagine if they’d cost millions

Wrexham technically still don't own their own stadium. Their owners bought the ground in a separate company

Rupp came on board as an investor to make money not spend it. I think he has long since realised he isn’t going to do that. So now he sees the club being run in that controversial word sustainable and he is waiting for the right offer if that takes time I think he is comfortable with that. There is no evidence he is taking money out of the club and doesn’t seem interested in having the loan he put in repayed. He is sanctioning good budgets year on year and whilst a lot of people can’t grasp this I feel the odds are when we eventually get a new owner little will change when we are producing the money we are. So hopefully Rupp can prove me wrong and sell to buyer who is prepared to throw money down the plug hole

Whilst it’s only a pendant , Is the club that hard up that it has to sell stuff like this ? Nice piece of memorabilia and we should keep things like these .

We don't even need an owner to throw money down the plug hole, just one that actually cares about football and wants to see the club get promotion. As long as we aren't costing him money and still emptying our wallets to fund the club then we could be in the NLN and it would make no difference to him

Would you be able to shed some light on what Rupp’s plans for the club are? @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler

I think Ryan spelled all this out this time last year when he said the aim was out of L2 and aim immediately for Championship rather than consolidation. I’m not aware of any comments to the contrary since then, others on here maybe. Can’t help you further than what is already in the public domain I’m afraid.
