Ambition is one thing, having an owner willing to spend millions of his own money to realise that ambition is another. We don't have one and they do, that's really the difference.

Such a ridiculous argument it’s not my business of course not . When the day Rupp leaves is he going to share with me the money he is going to earn?

Ah so you got the point. If it were my business and you told me what to do with it , I’d tell you to walk right on very quickly!

The point is where is the person or people who are going to come in and gives us the investment we all want. I personally have been waiting for it for sixty years.
There will at some stage be a new owner or owners but the big probability is that things will be run in a similar way just as the majority of clubs are

To be fair though we not asking him to invest we are asking him to spend his own money with little hope of getting it back. What would be a motive to do that. He put money in the first instance to try and make money. If there is anybody out there who can put more money in they should be making him an offer he can’t refuse. The WAGMI bid proved that he would sell

I'm not attempting to convince you of anything. I just really struggle with people bending over backwards to say how great the owners of this club are, year on year on year of failure, and it does my head in when folk say they can't be criticised.

And while we're at it, can we please stop using the term Sugar Daddy?

When you look at the investment Bolton made (when in league 2), during the January window, you’d have to say that’s what investment can do. We never appear to make the right investment or see what’s needed when it’s blatantly obvious. Spending that extra cash on one or two quality additions can get you over the line.

I’ll check this out tomorrow and look at the circumstances was that before or after their massive debt crisis?

After. They were served up a winding order in the 2018/19 season. They were last in League 2 in 2020/21 season.

So the debt was wiped, creditors were unpaid and they started again with a clean sheet of paper. Is that just what happened to us twice?

Rupp will sell if the right offer comes in - in my opinion. And the only way he gets his money back is if we get promoted to L1.

What happened at City occurred around twenty years ago. The governance issues in the game have changed, HMRC seem more robust. It certainly didn’t happen at Bury!

    Back to transfers. Any news?

I don't agree with that. They agreed a price of £5m and got lucky with Brexit. The £ dropped off a cliff so it will have been more like £4m. Let's say Rupp put £1m in to mop up Edin's mess.

He'd easily get his £5m back if he sold up today.

Takeover was complete in May 2016 - we hadn't even had the referendum then!!! Pound was weak in 2015 but was on the way to recovery in early 2016. You are also forgetting inflation. £5m in 2016 was worth a lot more than £5m in 2023.

Does Rupp really want to sell? Has he been offering the club for sale? We will never know.

However, I highly doubt that if he publicly said he’s listening to offers, that offers wouldn’t come in.

We need somebody to come in with the right vision and expertise to execute it.

We need someone with wealth and willing to spend otherwise we are better staying with the status quo

Given inflation, he would need around £6.5M to get the same value back.
