Hopefully, I do like variety but not a lot of managers do. Sparky was always a tinkerer in the prem. Really looking forward to pre season just to see if we do have a catalogue of systems we give time to.

 

He would also be our third right back?

The rumour seems to have it's origins in Sheffield Wednesday-oriented fantasy.

They probably haven't really looked into how many right backs we already have, and just thought "local club who can afford him".

But at 32, I'd be very surprised.

Great PR move by Vince to be fair. Stops the media asking questions around the removal of a British coach in his first managers role and only 6 months into a 5 year contract and he left on the 3rd day of pre season training. All the media are bothered about now are interviews around the first female coach at mens level. Yes it's probably just for pre-season, but I bet the training ground today has more national reporters down there than they did for winning the league.

 

Absolute madness if his plan is just to give her pre season?

If she's just caretaker for a week or so while they find a permanent appointment then fine but if it drags on and he doesn't give her the job full time then that's the most important part of the season wasted and after a relegation I'd suggest that pre season has an added emphasis on regrouping and rebuilding.

 

It's madness for sure. The FGR set up is to build a squad using one tactic, the hire based on one setup too. So in theory, the person coming in will already know they are built to use 1 system and they be training with it for however many weeks the caretaker is in place. FGR also have a recruitment team that look after all that side, so the manager doesn't have a great say in those steps either.

Even before Ferguson left, I'd have said they'd struggle with the squad they retained from L1, some incredibly poor players in that team as they tried doing L1 on a small budget.

 

Cowleys and Pete Wild being touted. Think you would be mad to go there. I agree it's a master stroke by Vince as it takes the spotlight off Ferguson and his 5 year contract but as their fans are saying they are in danger of becoming the Watford of the lower divisions with Manager changes. The problem they seem to have is 19 of last year's failures are still there.

Respectfully my opinion.. I believe that the players highlighted are one of the worst in terms of football ability and occasions effort I have seen. I base my opinion on watching these players home and away in seasons they represented us.

You could maybe name different players (probably I’ve tried to erase them from my memory but would no doubt agree) but this lot I highlighted stood out especially in my opinion.

 

Are we talking Luke Hendrie here for some reason my reply was based on Luke being amongst those you named, or is it Patrick if it's Patrick I agree.
