I doubt he will come without a medical plan. I don’t know his full medical diagnosis so can’t comment, but he nearly died, so not something to be taken lightly. Ok, if he comes here he will obviously need to have a medical, and if he is fit well and recovered then so be it.

 

But Wyke is a big strong centre forward of which we already have 2!!!
We don’t have a creative CM.

I’d be unimpressed if we sign Wyke.

 

Why would Wyke distrupt our plans to sign a creative CM? Its not one or the other!!

Wyke would be an upgrade on Oliver. Surely you want adequate back up/competition for Cook.

So you’d be happy with 2 expensive strikers sitting on the bench whilst we make do with Gillead mincing around the midfield and Smallwood hitting his free kicks into the Kop?

Its baffling that we as fans bemoan a lack of goals 'elsewhere' in the team and our over reliance on Cook. Rumours circulate and fans turn their nose up at a proven goal scorer because 'we already have one'.

Yes, he was perfectly good cover last season. Came in and did his job superbly at every opportunity......

 

Top priority is a creative midfielder who will possibly chip in with a few goals.

next priority is bringing either Wright or Banks back on a season long loan with no recall option.

and finally, Dan Aygei or Billy Sharp to partner Cook up front.

 

We were just about to sign Jonny Williams. You don't think the club have identified we need a CM to strengthen that department?

And why would Wyke be on the bench? Why not have that option of starting two up front. Did you miss our results playing a diamond last season? And who is to say Oliver is staying?

 

He’s right, it’s NOT either/ or though is it?.

 

He came in when Cook was dropped scored two goals we won two on the trot which we didn’t do often last season. Oliver has a decent recent record in league one despite what some say he is good cover as good as we are going to get

 

I only hope we are not signing a CW in place of our midfield!
