Injury prone, did very little at Lincoln and, as I recall had a few words to say when he left us. No thanks.

 

Can't see it being Charlie Wyke, unless someone is on the way out.
Cook , just signed new contract.
Derbyshire , will not give up his last pay day and retire.
Vadaine , is this goodbye.

 

The demands of Championship football maybe. He is 30 now, struggling side and had his issues.

A drop down to L2 might be what he needs now.

 

If there was anything wrong with the player that posed a serious threat to his health or worst case scenario his life then he wouldn't be able to play, insurance companies would never take on that sort of risk and neither would the club. Wyke and Erikksen will be continuosly monitored to ensure their safety and as such are noore of a risk than any other player.

 

Retained by Stockport but spent most of last season at Motherwell where he hardly figured until later on. At least he would know which colour shirts to pass to!

 

Tend to agree, but Erikson done alright...

 

It might be what he needs but is it what we need? I'm not convinced.

I dont understand? Are we going to go into a promotion chasing season being completely reliant on a 33 year old Andy Cook returning 30 goals again? Are we not going to have capable back up, someone who can come in for rest and rotation periods, maybe even replace if a lack of form?

We need to be bringing in a striker that is capable of pushing Cook to the limits. Health issues aside, it was only a couple of years that Wyke was scoring 30 odd goals in L1!!! He hasn't replicated that in the Championship but we don't need a Championship player. If player is willing, affordable and passes the medicals then I have no issue if he was to return. He has a great pedigree at L1 and L2 level.

 

Loved Vernam. Think he really found his feet as a player for us under Hughes and became a very valuable asset. He is more than capable of hitting double figures under Hughes - but like you say, he left us under disappointing (but understandable) circumstances. We couldn't do enough to convince him we were the right club and he made his choice of an easier life closer to home. Albeit in L1 as well....

We need committed players.

 

I’ll post it for you if nobody else does . There are ways to get round the firewall. I’ll get to the end of the thread and post it if required.
