I don't blame him for waiting to see what offers come in but we know what he offered us in League Two not sure he would be the same in League One, but early days don't burn your bridges son.

The jump isn’t as big as you would think really. League 1 and 2 are very similar in terms of standard. Did you see the playoff final with Wednesday and Barnsley. It was absolutely dreadful. He should find himself a league 1 club and with him being left footed that’s in his favour.
I like Rom but in reality he’s very replaceable.

I like Rom, but he's not as physical as we need imo.

Very good on the ground, but got hustled off the ball too often. Rom/Stubbs wasn't quite as good a pairing as I'd hoped.

Nope Stubbs and Platt looked more solid to me. I’m not worried about the defence, our shortfalls last season were the form of our wide players like Chapman although he did pick up before his injury, and the fact Gilly and Smallwood dont offer anything going forward. Improve that and we go up.

Yes, Stubbs & Platt at CB, January to March coincided with our best run of the season. Was it 1 defeat in 17?

Was a fan of Crichlow and have no doubts he'll be capable of making the step up to L1 if he can find himself a club. If we weren't so well stocked at centre back then this morning's news would be a much bigger blow but you'd expect Odusina and Kelly to want to make a point and fight for more gametime during pre-season.

Platt & Stubbs have proven that they're a strong partnership and we started to leak more goals when Crichlow was restored ahead of Platt. Only two clean sheets in the last nine games when we were keeping clean sheets regularly with Platt & Stubbs. Expecting greater emphasis on improving the squad elsewhere.

Wasn't it something ridiculous like only 5 or 6 wins though?

I seem to remember even drawing 4 (or 5?) in a row at one point.

Kelly also has a long throw, which might help mix it up a bit.

4 goals conceded in 10 games with Stubbs & Platt I believe.

Good luck to him, if he feels he can get a gig higher up then he’s best to try. But we move on, plenty of fish in the sea and at this level CB’s are probably the most replaceable position as there are plenty of similar ability.

With or without Critchlow last season the defence wasn’t our area of concern or the reason we didn’t go up. It’ll be how we recruit in midfield and out wide where promotion will be won or lost next season not another CB.

All these young players , chasing the big money, pushed by agents.
I say earn the right to earn big money. God forbid they have to get another career when they retire in their mid 30's.

really didnt rate Platt until he was out of the team. Used to do a long ball every ten minutes that fed our attackers and this ended when Rom came in. Felt we shipped too many goals with Rom.

Skilful player Rom but lacked a bit of Physicality and was prone to an error two. But I still would be happy if he stayed

On a serious note Kev I don't remember Foulds being as bad as some people are making out, and from what I can remember he was stronger in the air than our other full backs.

Here's a novel idea. Lets have fullbacks who's primary job it is to defend and in front of them we could have some other players, I don't know let's call them wingers, and their job would be to get down the line and hit crosses into the box. Do you think it might catch on?

    Regards ahar964, full back aficionado
