That's says he was offered new terms. That definitely doesn't mean he left on a free transfer.

Ah so paid us a development fee as he was under 21 when he was at the club - helps prove my original point so excellent either way.

 

He was under 24 so we were entitled to a fee.

Either way proves my original point correct regarding some on here thinking they run down contacts solely to get paid more as no fee is paid, he ran down his contact got paid more elsewhere even though they paid a fee for him.

He wouldnt had a fee paid if he was over the age of 24 when he joined bradford city. Cook wont command a fee if he goes elsewhere

 

Only because he’s under 24, it still doesn’t make your comment correct, unless you are talkin* about under 24’s .

It does kev, he ran down his contract still commanded a fee and also got paid more than us.

i just disagree with the opinion that players solely run down contracts only to get more money instead of the truth which is better prospects.

Originally Watt would have been in agreement with you as I thought he left on a free and went to a club with similar prospects and more money but he did not leave on a free so is completely useless as an agreement for you.

both Vernam and Paudie left on frees and both went to a higher league for better prospects.

 

Speaking of Paudie, there were people saying it wasn't a big deal that he left, and he was never that good to begin with.

I disagreed vehemently, and am not surprised to see he was Lincoln City's player of the season.

Critchlow is sat in the Wednesday end at Wembley, about 10 rows from the pitch.

 

It surprises me. He's just not that good and I'm really not that bothered that he left.

 

He's a decent lower league defender to be fair but have we missed him? I don't think so.

 

Yeah, I'm not trying to push the thought he was terrible, I just thing was bang average and very similar to lots of immobile centre halves at this level.

 

With better prospects comes more money. Might be the odd exception to the rule but money is usually the reason a player rounds down his contract.
