Imagine if he doesn't go anywhere!

 

I said in a post yesterday on another thread that Cook would go to N Wales.
I read during the week that Wrexham released 11 players and the same article was speculating on their lineup for the first game of the season which had Cook in a two with Mullin. To add to that PP told a friend of mine he wants Cook as Mullin “needs support “.
Cook is 32 and a two year deal at wages Wrexham are paying will be an excellent deal for him then he can finish at the likes of Hartlepool.
On the other hand if we can tempt him……

 

Cook will leave for the money no doubt at all-who would blame him? I would like to think we can tempt Wright back and have him playing alongside A N Other frontman.

From what I’ve seen we’d be better off with Kai Brunker.

 

I know but I didn't want to say his name. Maybe that would work though as Oliver does win a high % of headers, maybe more flick ons like Hanson and Wells era? I do think we need to have a go at signing Wright though. Would be a real statement of intent by the club.

 

Forget Wright. What is wrong with weak minded City fans unable to move forward!

Wright did well for us but dropped us. He had a choice and made it. Well done to him.

We need players that really want to be here and fight for the shirt. Sick of Smallwood retirement signings also.

 

You are deluded to think players sign so they can fight for a shirt they really have no affinity to. It's called money that they sign for. We need quality players like Wright in the team regardless of whether they love/like the club or not. Which is probably not in 99% of cases.

Every new signing says the same thing about coming here. Big fans base etc etc but has that altered our league position? No!

Get your head out of the sand and smell the coffee. We need proper quality in the squad even if that means trimming it down by 2 or 3 players.

 

Why not, that’s what they do. Wonder when the sugar daddies will get fed up with their play thing?

I spoke to Cooke yesterday in the car park at the rugby club. ( He had driven from the north east with Smallwood and Gilly ) He was absolutely gutted with the result and said he didn’t know where he would be next season as city have not made an offer. Also said the player were baffled with THAT substitution.

 

You know I thought today what Smallwood was doing not running over to ask MH what he was thinking. Surely he has some clout to speak in game with the manager to affect decisions?

 

And I still believe with the right service he can score goals for us as he has done for others

 

Money will be good and we will be a part of that documentary, rubbing shoulders with a-listers. Why wouldn't ya.

Good luck to him if he goes. He has had a brilliant season but has been shite for the last few games and didn't turn up when it really mattered. A lot of them didn't in all fairness so if he goes then we move on.

 

Cooks turned down a contract offer from Stevenage as he wants to stay up north.

Contrary to my previous post about PP and Wrexham, you could have a valid point there Mickey. Travel to Apperley Bridge and VP when sharing with others on cost might be an attraction with some improvement on terms.
I know from talking to PP he stays over in Wrexham several times a week depending on fixtures and Cook would have to do the same, all extra cost. If he’s turned Stevenage down ten Wrexham will fall into the same category. Hope Ryan is working hard on retention

 

Married now too, so presumably his wife might need to move with him. Presume she's working too.
