Wrexham will try sign Cook. They can offer him
a deal no one else can. The only snag could be he hated bench warming at Mansfield - will he start every week at Wrexham? I hope he stays but that we change our set up

Sounds like Wrexham are signing Alfie May to go along with Mullin and Palmer, I can't see Wrexham wanting Cook as well.

Think we'll offer deals to Cook & Gilly. Maybe Clayton but not too sure on that one. Doyle probably gets a similar offer to what he has now and that's about it.

 

Thanks Silver, I said last night we would be refreshing 50% of the squad , looking at that , I ain’t far off.
There isn’t one I’d bend over backwards to retain other than Cookie and Gilly as a squad player. I’ve changed my mind somewhat after the last two weeks.

I think Matty Foulds will start next season at left back, Ridehalge has been poor really and who’s that Bola guy? Did he win a raffle.

Mullin signed a new deal last week, he's going nowhere.

 

I don't think Hughes rates Foulds. Wouldn’t be surprised if he signed for Harrogate permanently.

I stand by my earlier post above with the exception of Eisa. Hopefully we will sign a few quality players to add to what we have and get autos next season.

 

Trouble is that we thought we had signed a number of quality players last time out and look what happened.

The only signings of real impact were Lewis, Wright and Banks. Smallwood has flattered to deceive for large parts of the campaign. Walker has injury problems that need to go away so he can get a full season and hopefully make a difference. Clayton and Derbyshire are seasoned pros but at the wrong end of the age spectrum if we are to keep building a team for the future. Our midfield was second best in too many games last campaign.

 

Try to keep Cook but the rest can go apart from Doyle and maybe keep Clayton as a back up option?

Not expecting much from either. They have just been relegated from Div 3. Had our team been in that division, we would have finished below FGR. Hope Mark has learnt a lot and can sign better this time.

 

Agreed. But its another mistake IMO. Better than Ridehalgh anyway.

Jake Young another. Did more in his few games than Nevers and Costelleo put together.

 

We deffo need 2 in the middle. I would try and keep Gilliead, love his work rate and can be useful. Wouldnt break the bank for him though...
