I have just received this from Ryan Sparks. I am astonished that the club is ignorant of play off rules and told him so. Appalled.

"The decision to change the stadium setup from what is more usual for league games has been made to enable City fans to occupy seats behind both goals.


We have to provide our opponents with an allocation of 10% of the overall capacity, in line with EFL rules and regulations.


Given where the segregation barrier is situated, within the Midland Road Stand’s concourse, the only way to do this while using the TL Dallas Stand as a ‘home end’ is to essentially flip the traditional ‘away’ blocks of F and G with the traditional ‘home’ blocks of A, B, C, D and a part of E. This provides Carlisle with the 2,460 seats they are entitled to.


I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your family as that wasn’t our intention."

Was a surprise to us lot that we got the five blocks on the side as opposed to the usual two and behind the goal. Been no reason given for the change up here? Assume either a police decision or City wanted home fans behind both goals?

Not seen anything regarding your allocation at Brunton Park yet, but would suggest it will be approx 1700 in the usual East Stand down the side. The open terracing behind the goal will be on sale for ourselves by all accounts after being used a couple of times in recent weeks.

Both our allocation at yours, and yours at ours, sit around the 10% mark required in the EFL Play-Off rules.

We also managed to launch a new ticketing upgrade today. Five minutes before the tickets went on sale meaning anyone who only wanted home game tickets needn’t have queued up. Typical Carlisle United banter in full operation!

Anyways, looking forward to the two games, ticketing issues aside!

 

You only got that many tickets in those blocks because our ticketing manager, CEO and the Supporters Board couldn't be bothered familiarising themselves with the EFL play off rules. We only needed to give you 2000 tickets but they thought you had to have 10%. Enjoy the view from my usual seat.

 

It's a lot of hassle to get a few fans behind the goal. I suppose if it gives us a 1% better chance of getting through, Sparks will think it's worth it.

There is a need for a 10% allocation only where the stadium capacity is below 20,000. Otherwise it is 2,000, which is what Carlisle should have received.

Absolutely correct. If our capacity was 10000 the allocation would be 1000, if 15000 then 1500 etc. It's pretty clear in the regulations.

It’s just as much your problem too! Trapped at both ends of the stand . That’s the point we are making . It’s madness!

 

I'm tempted to go for the TL Dallas, but I've only been in there once and it was the draw with Reading...

 

EFL rules:

"3.3 The Visiting Club shall have the right to claim 2,000 tickets for use by its supporters (or such number as represents 10% of all tickets reserved or otherwise sold in advance, if less than 2,000)."

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear......big faux pas......so we end up giving our opponents more tickets than necessary, moving season ticket holders out of their seats when not necessary, starting to create divisions amongst supporters when not necessary, losing a feel good factor when not necessary, creating work for the ticketing team when not necessary......we get no extra tickets at Carlisle and Salford give Stockport 500..... unbelievable Jeff!!

Let's not give any sort of additional advantage to our opponents...oh wait!!

Will you sell out? Doubt it as you got 13k with £10 tickets a month or so ago.....
