They'll tell him to switch his seat to the Sunwin Stand and use the McCall/Hendrie Suite.
There seems no doubt that the club has decided to put the squeeze on 25 yearers this season. Put up prices and enough annoying stipulations and watch them switch to other types of tickets

Bottom line is we need a bar that welcomes home and away fans, sells decent beer and has a big screen showing footy.

For years I walked up Midland Road but the last year or so I've walked up from town. North Parade is always busy but that walk on Manningham Lane to the ground gets worse the closer you get to VP. I know the location is a big draw back but theres no real reason to get to Valley Parade early.

Exactly... North parade is rammed before the match

I don't see the attraction of getting to VP early for a beer

If they concentrated the sales in one place they could offer better choice

There’s a need to get there early to get parked but once there, there’s nothing.
On a nice summer / spring day we’ll stand outside the Latvian bar but in the Winter there’s nothing.
And as far as the fan park debacle, who honestly wants to stand in the cold and rain behind the Kop?
Jeez the more I think about it the more I realise how pathetic we are for a club that attracts nearly 20k every other week.

Maybe introduce a minimum spend in the suites of say £5.
This could be achieved by charging £5 to enter which is then redeemed behind the bar or on food.
Would stop people hogging seats and bringing in their own food/drink

It is a lazy option to put prices up to accommodate spending money on venues that are mediocre at best. The first thing you need to do is maximise your revenue. You don’t do that by upsetting your long term supporters. You find out what they want, they are the very best ppl to help you achieve your goal. If they want to concentrate on the McCall/Hendrie suites, they need to think about refurbishing those rooms. Revamp the food menu. 3/4 items on the menus and concentrate on value and quality. Make sure you know what your competitors are offering, go on to North Parade. If we can afford it replace those massive tables and chairs, you will get more ppl in. We must have bigger TV’s. Then the customers will come.

I think the issue with turning it more into a bar/pub environment is that it is used during the week as a meeting venue and also as a wedding venue so needs to be easily used for those thing s which would explain the larger tables etc. yep they could have both and swap them over but obviously there is a cost associated.

maybe they should be talking to other clubs that seem to run better pre match facilities

A reply a friend of mine received which seems very similar to a fellow poster on here - same spiel.

    Thank you for your email.

My apologies for the delay in coming back to you, had some family business to take care of so I’ve been out of the business for a couple of days.

We hope this email finds you well and that you have been enjoying the football season thus far.

As you may know, the price of the suite upgrade has been £120 for several years, which is also reflective of the offer the club made to 25 year-season ticket holders.

However, due to rising costs of energy, maintenance, and other security and operational expenses, we have taken the decision to increase the price to £180 per season, starting from next season. This increase will also allow us to invest in the suites, and as a result, improve their standard – while supporting our move to freeze season ticket prices for the third-consecutive season, providing the second-cheapest season ticket in the EFL.

We understand that this change may be unwelcome, especially for those who have been loyal to us for so many years. Therefore, we are offering a solution for those who do not wish to pay the increased price.

You may relinquish your 25 year-season ticket and pay the lower price associated with your price band as listed below, while retaining your seat, providing it is located outside of a suite.

    Price Band

    Price

    Adult

    £198

    Senior

    £174

    Young Person

    £174

    Youth

    £126

    Junior

    £30

We appreciate your support and loyalty to the club, and we understand that this decision may be difficult for some of you. We want to assure you that this change is necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of the club.

Note: Please be advised that the price increase will be implemented for next season. While we understand that this may be a difficult decision for some, we urge you to consider the long-term sustainability of the club. If you choose to relinquish your 25 year-season ticket, please be aware that you will not have access to the suite, and your seat will be located outside of the suite. We appreciate your understanding and support.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    With warm regards,

That's identical to the email I got. They are clearly just sending out standard replies and completely ignoring the issue of charging for services that aren't/can't be used.

I thought it might be without trawling through all of the responses. Just a copy and paste. I cannot understand why they are being so obstinate. Your suggestion of £120 for a seat or £180 for a suite upgrade is so simple and it would appease everybody, I just don’t understand their logic of ignoring the facts and coming up with these bullshit replies swerving the obvious question that we are all asking. As has been said umpteen times, we want to buy a right to sit in our own seat, not pay for a suite upgrade we can’t have or want.

I can’t work my ST price out. £174+180 is £354 x 2 is £708. The club have asked for £688. I am not complaining as they might charge me more

This is getting really daft now, even (worst case scenario) senior citizen's are only paying £6 more than the season ticket price.
We still benefit from ridiculously cheap season tickets, 25 year ticket holders or not.
No wonder people look at 25 year ticket holders disparagingly

And I’ve had something very similar. Written back. See if I get anywhere but doubt it. It’s really disappointing. Like a few have said sounds like a Govt statement following a question that doesn’t even address the question. Leaves a sour taste.

    My reply from Mr S

    Good evening

The decision to increase suite-upgrade prices (the price a 25-yearer will pay) has been taken after much consideration and analysis.

Rising costs have made the areas near loss-makers for the club, providing access for just over £5.20 per league fixture (for adults).

The suite-upgrade price increase is one of a number of increases coming for next season, to various products, in order to cover rising costs to ensure the football club is viable in all areas.

We are committed to providing affordable football via our season-ticket product and, in order to do so, turnover must increase in other areas, as we have frozen for the third season running.

We are extremely keen to ensure the accessibility of professional football for as many people as possible during these difficult economic times. Sadly, we aren’t immune to the significant rising costs of energy, personnel and maintenance.

We are also looking to improve the stadium suites this summer, refurbishing the toilets while making other enhancements where possible.

The 25-Yearer season-ticket scheme will end after the 2025/26 season.

    Kind regards,
