To say that we’re a CB “light” intimates that we’re short on numbers in there which simply isn’t true, we have four CBs. If you think that a one or two of them aren’t good enough and need upgrading on then that’s different.

 

Need a few out and 2 central midfielders, centre half, a manager who plays flexibly rather 4-2-3-1 religiously and any player with pace

 

I wonder if we may be in for Danny Johnson from Mansfield who's currently on loan at Walsall where his contract expires in January. Apparently he won't play for Mansfield again after a fall out with Clough and will go to probably the highest bidder in January.
He's a North East lad, so playing here he'll be nearer to home and could join the north east car share in the team. As well as that I'm sure Gent will be well aware of him and maybe even know him, seen as he played for Middlesbrough.
Another player I'd like to see in a city shirt is Barrow's Josh Gordon as we need a quick diminutive striker, however they'll probably want a lot of money for him and won't want to lose him. As well as Ben Whitfield (Bingley lad) having a great season so far with Barrow too.

 

Think there will be more in and outs than we previously thought in January

 

Apparently we are preparing a double swoop for Crawleys Tom Nichols and Ashley Nadesan and have already had discussions regarding Nichols. We tried to sign Nichols in the summer but it fell through and Nasedan has impressed Hughes when he's seen him play this season.

 

Matthew Etherington, our former loanee has just become their manager.

 

Surely Oliver will want a move?

Went from playing L1 every week to getting 10 minutes if he's lucky in L2.

Obviously we'd need to replace him with a super sub type.

 

Both impressed at Valley Parade recently. Nicholls always seems to have a good game against us, whoever he has played for.

 

As we know ourselves Dennis, players can force the move that they want by insisting that they sign for a club that shows any interest, it isn't wise to keep unhappy players as it shows in performances.
I don't know if either of these two players would benefit our squad or not but if they do sign, surely it doesn't look too good for the likes of Oliver?

On another note, I watched the Forest Green v. Alvechurch FA Cup game at the weekend and was very impressed with two Alvechurch players, a fast speedy, tricky winger called Tyrell Hamilton, and a very energetic box to box midfielder called Aurio Teixeira - if they play like that every week, they won't be at Alvechurch for very long!

Sorry if its rehash of whats been said, but definitely need some fresh blood in jan.

I am expecting Angol and Young to go out on loan. Need a CM as well like watt. Hopeful of a new striker to come im too, feel a bit sorry for Oliver but he needs a foil to work from and we dont have that. Hopefully with walker coming back that will change. In a 4-4-2 walker and Oliver would be a good pairing.


Interesting to see what January brings.

 

Be interesting to see what Gent has been up to?!
Fair to say he received a lot of compliments for his summer work but a number of his signings now look a lot more questionable. Whether Hughes has made the most of them is another issue!
How far will Rupp decide to support further investment to an already over inflated squad? And is Sparks still alive?
A lot of questions to be answered and a very important January on the horizon
