Summer 2022 - Transfer Talk

There are no obvious relegation candidates this season either. Scunthorpe and Oldham were in disarray going into last season, Scunny were clearly strapped for cash and assembling a team on a budget and Oldham had off field issues to contend with. I don't see any teams that are clearly in a mess this pre-season so the teams that struggle might be the ones who stand still and don't improve on last season.

Weirdly having so many teams in the league who are hoping to have a crack at promotion and competing for the same players might actually prove to be a good thing. If nobody can assemble a super team then the quality players will be spread fairly evenly among the teams and it might prevent anybody from running away with the league.

 

Absolutely right. They were a poor watch and oh so damn predictable. Can’t speak for County so happy to wait and see.

 

It will be interesting to see if Crankshaw can have the same sort of input he had last season, although not a regular starter his goals tally was very good, we didn't see a lot of the kid but what we saw was potencial with regards wing play, I'm not sure under Adams he would have got game time so as I say this coming season will be interesting.

I'm guessing Odusina played under Challinor when he was manager at Hartlepool. May be a factor.

Telford gone to Crawley. Will be interesting if he can have the same productive season as he did last.

 

Complete waster now. Only wanted to play a few international fans for a while now and probably chose LA because any English clubs fans wouldn't stand for him picking and choosing when he can be arsed to play.

If you look purely at his honours it looks phenomenal but if you remove the ones where he barely even made a sprinkling of token sub appearances then it's really not that spectacular for someone who had the ability to be so much more.

 

If Wales hadnt qualified for the WC he would have probably jacked it in. This is his semi retirement.

 

Just a guess from this blogger but if true we might be one of the clubs talking to him.

That's a hell of a CV. Peter Clarke has shown age is no barrier if you're good enough. Would love him at the club.

They are also rumoured to be interested in Fraser Horsfall from Northampton. Get them both and that will be some defence but if they are only looking to secure one of them, I'd be very happy with either of their rejected options.

 

CB does worry me a little and the addition of Bamba would be excellent even for just a year.
