Match Thread Newport County (H) @ 15.00 26th March

We've a load of short passing specialists in the team. It's fine when we're on the attack or the front foot but we have no way of getting the ball up the field quickly when we win it in our half with this team. Need a Vernam or Pereira on to change the dynamics.

 

We don't have an attacking threat because the players are shite. Vernam did more in one minute than everyone else had in 70 last week.

 

Cook gets a pass to feet once every three months. I’m struggling to remember the last time we put a cross in from the byline. We play nice football, but anything in the final third is usually woeful.

 

VP is a graveyard. Playing ok but we don't looking like scoring. But we're playing Andy cook on his own AGAIN!

May as well bring back Derek Adams.

 

Well I'm bored to death, loads of possession with little or no threat going forward.

 

Evans doesn't even look up and airs it to their defender.

Really bad squad and it was funny listening to Raynor describe it as a great one...Slowest team in the division, 3 players that can take someone on and they're on the bench

 

Its easier on the eye, but no more dangerous in terms of attacking threat.

Different managers, different systems and styles but our issues have been clear all season. We don't have enough threat and we have a soft underbelly at the back.

 

That's been the worst we have been under MH so far, don't want to see any of this starting eleven in a City shirt next season..

Nice bright start , but once they realised we are very narrow with no threat on the wings they just play it wide. Good in the centre of the pitch when we get it.!

Songo should have a pen in the first 10 mins which the ref actually saw, he was pulled to the ground.

Will someone kick the guy at right back Norman in the shin, because he’s a cheating, fouling, gains 10 yards at every throw in , time wasting two hatted, sharp point!

Otherwise entertaining game, we just need more width…Vernham and Piriera on!

 

Callum Cooke missing in action
When needed to play with tempo or pace he is am afraid not able to contribute.
He sees the need but cannot physically make it happen.
Lovely looking player but takes far too long to make anything happen when quick movement is needed.
Today would take him off and put Vernam on off Cook and drop Walker deeper

Inswinging corners have to be a good opportunity for us. They don't look comfortable at corners at all.
