    Won't but should. We can't continue to drag ourselves down into the dirt with the army of poor to mediocre players we have. Why is our best prospect on trial at Hull? Answers on a postcard.

    Ive not spotted anything yet in the young lads that suggests they will improve with us. Might be different with a new manager and set up who knows. As for the lad on trial at Hull I'd heard good things about him but again that doesn't mean too much without actually seeing him play at first team level.

    As someone just said above I agree same would probably be more than happy to get rid of the lot, but you have to be realistic also as our budget wouldn't cover a squad full of high end first team quality players, so when people on here say keep Paudie, Cooke or whoever I don't think it's because they rate them as good players it's probably more that they're factoring this in and just suggesting who could hopefully work as the squad fillers we are going to need, but would be an upgrade on this seasons squad fillers.

    Thanks for asking Jon, I was unaware of that. I keep hearing the lad’s name, I wonder how much Hughes has heard and whether he will be more willing to consider some of the younger kids.

    Same old, same old.

    Really good start. Playing with confidence and authority, good signs of early progress from Hughes coaching methods, we go 1 up, should have been 2 or 3, and straight away we gift away a soft goal.

    I'm confident that with Hughes coaching methods and knowledge, and with what we've got across the midfield and attacking positions, we'll see improvements going forward between now and May. There are clear signs of that just in this first half.

    But its a car crash of a defence. An entirely new back 4 and keeper needed. This lot have us 1-0 down at least, before we even start.

    We look vulnerable to any attack, so the opposition don't need that many.

    So frustrating. So many signs of progress today.

    Are there any free agents out there who can rescue our defensive position? Its a chronic lack of ability, there's nothing that coaching can do to help that back 4 or keeper.

    It's a tad disconcerting that Hughes hasn't come out and said anything about free agents (unless I've missed it)

    At this stage of the season though, are there any free agents who are fit enough to add value right now? That's what we need.

    Lots to be positive about tonight. But the defence is a joke.

    I'd settle for adding defensive qualities.... hopefully as professionals, they will have maintained a level of fitness. I appreciate that match fitness is different.

    The defence needs a hell of a lot of work. Change!

    We need two new full backs. Both with pace, ability to get up & down and cross.

    A centre back that can pass the ball from the back and run with it a little.

    A keeper with brains also required.
