As someone said earlier, We can’t replace everyone in this team, But the majority do need to Go

Players that are capable of being in a promotion challenging first 18
Hendrie; Watt, Sutton, Vernam, Cook, Foulds

the key term being first 18, The level those players are at is the minimum level of quality that we would need in order to succeed at this level.

As Good as Ridehalgh was earlier on this season, he’s getting old. A player who’s 30+ an has a injury record isn’t worth keeping. Foulds is good enough to be a deputy for the position but not first 11 just yet.

Hendrie id say is good enough for this level. with a decent defensive partner, paudie can look decent at this level as well

Gillead, not good enough, isn’t a good enough option off the bench

Robinson, Lavery. 5 goals between the pair of em is abysmal. Robinson is sunday league an Lavery is injury prone. Both need releasing

Kelleher. Don’t even get me started

O’Donnell. Time is up. isn’t good enough. Same for Evans

Hornby. Wouldn’t mind him as No.1 for next season but we could do better and should

Angol. Is a good player on his day but is made of glass. Move on.

Hopefully this year was just a blip for Eisa an he comes back full force next year. Still believe there is a player in there

Songo & Threlkeld. Hope Adams takes em when Morecambe inevitably get relegated by the end of the season

As for the loans. Only one even worth considering is Walker who imo is a league above. Don’t see him staying with us beyond his loan spell but you never know

Bass has had his moments, but is too shaky, especially at home. Doesn’t exactly inspire a makeshift defence with confidence

Daly. Has had adequate time but has failed to make an impact. Elliot finally gets a chance an gets injured. Says enough there. Delfonseo looks past it. Perriera is probably still at Luton for all we know

all in all; You’re looking at a good 10-12 signings there at least to get this club anywhere near the promotion race for next season

Personally I don't think Foulds is anywhere near good enough to be part of a promotion chasing team. Tough comparisons but he's no where near the player Mezza or Tony Mcmahon was and that's what it takes. Of our current squad there's only Paudie, Hendrie, Ridehalgh, Watt, Cook, Sutton, Vernham who I would say could be part of a squad challenging at the right end of the table. If we could somehow pursuade Walker to stay I'd be over the moon

Least one good thing about yesterday the majority of these con men won’t be conning the club out of more deals ........... this lot are just embarrassing and how the hell has Robinson made a career out of football ????? Cannot wait till the seasons done and don’t have to waste my team on a bunch who in my opinion the worst team I have seen in 35 years of watching City :(

I thought Hornby might make number one keeper next season, but he was dropped by Colchester yesterday,so maybe only good enough for back-up.

Realistically our whole back four needs improvement, I wouldn’t get rid of Foulds and Hendrie as I think they’re okay to sit on the bench. Don’t compare them to McMahon and Mezzanas they were starting 11 players, that’s who our new signings should be compared to.

When Parky came in he brought in an entire new back four, yes Luke Oliver played a bit but was soon fazed out. For me that’s what we need plus a new starting keeper. None of the Hornby is good enough to be first choice rubbish, if we want to go up we need better. Simple. Imo it could take 2 seasons as there isn’t a place on that starting 11 that doesn’t need upgrading on, presuming Walker doesn’t stay. Cook’s a usef

I didn’t realise the fella in goal for Liverpool today is the younger brother of our Kelleher.

I’d be checking if they have the same DNA if I was their old man.

Or stick our Kelleher in net and we might have the keeper problem sorted?

But Canavan was part of the same defence that had been horrendous all season.

Don't get this love-in some fans have for Hornby.

No way should he be our number 1 next season.

He is in his mid 20's now and has never established himself as a number 1 at any club, someone said on here earlier that he has already been dropped by Colchester?.

Liked the look of Mansfield's keeper Bishop, on loan from Man Utd. Hopefully Hughes with his contacts can entice someone similar from a top club next season

    It was never this bad.

We conceded a goal a game, like clockwork, drawing every week.

Now with no ROD or Canavan, it's two or three a game, every game.

Sorry mate, although I agree with the majority of what you say and I may be in the minority but yesterday we saw what a good player Gilliead can be for us. Good close control, hugging the touchline and beating his man along with a very good workrate. His workmates has been quite good most of the season although his affect on games hasn't been good enough but we could say that of most of the squad although in Gilliead's case he has been playing out of position.
Whatever we as supporters think I think you will find that Gilliead and maybe even Elliott Watt (if he takes up any offer of a new contract) will be players in Mark Hughes plans going forward. I think I rate Hughes judgement better than most of us on here.

Gillead has proven over several seasons that he's not going to contribute enough in terms of goals and assists to play at this level in an attacking role.

If you think he's got enough to play somewhere deeper then you're seeing something I'm not but offensively his numbers are about as poor as it comes.

If we do end up going down, it will be the result of a lot of terrible decisions from a lot of different people. But, there will be a direct line to Adams’ falling out with Canavan, shipping him out and deciding not to bring anyone in to replace him.

We’re currently one rash Paudie lunge away from a Kelleher/Songo’o defensive partnership.

For me hopefully time won’t tell, I think I am right he is out of contrac
Yesterday was by far and away Gilliead’s best game this season (I am no way a fan) I said walking to the game if they couldn’t be up for the game and trying they had a serious problem and Gilliead was one of the few that stood up to the situation.

He's under 24, so we will be able to keep him or get a fee.

If we can get a fee that’s a winner massively over rated.

Get rid of both keepers. Can’t see Bass signing permanently irrespective of how rest of his loan goals.

We’ve got to be aiming higher in every position now Hughes is manager. He’s a big draw. Let’s hope some decent packages can be put to our top targets…..

RE the keeper we just need a solid, safe pair of hands. Id even take on an oldie who has been warming the bench higher up the pyramid. Like Tom Heaton etc, but maybe someone more realistic for a club in our position. That sort of type, but from the Championship or L1. Someone, like Sparky and Andrew Davies before him, who doesn't really need the money but just wants a challenge and to be playing regularly.

    let’s aim high.

He conceded 7 goals in 3 games and got dropped.
