For gods sake Sparky pay what it takes to get Glen McCann here, Please do not be taken in again and be gullible to fall for the Evans spiel, We now need a solid manager who will rebuild the club especially the coaching and fitness side of things bringing in tried and trusted football staff not a self promoting person who is more talk than ability,

Thank Grant for taking the trouble to meet with us. As you will appreciate we have others to see. We'll be in touch.

Wellens gone from 8/1 yesterday on William Hill, now down to Evens. Assuming a few City fans have thrown a few quid on him after Parkers tweet last night.

Was Jewell DOF during Wellens tenure as manager of Swindon.

If so, be interesting to repeat that here perhaps?

He joined about a month after Wellens came in at Swindon, but yes he was there during all of Wellens spell in charge and i think up until McGreal left.

My dad replaced all the windows at Jewells new house in Guiseley last summer time, said he asked if he knew much about Citys goings on at the time, roughly September ish last year form memory. Jewell said he doesn't have a clue how it's run at the moment, only hears from City if they want him to pop down for a speaking gig for a dinner or something like that. But did say Rahic contacted him when they first got the club and he had a meeting with him, Edin wanted to know about the fanbase and the city itself from a legend. Had a few blokes down there for that type of getting to know the club discussions. He did say the only approach he had at the time was from the Guiseley owner who wanted him to come in to consult but it was unpaid and he couldn't be bothered.

Glen McCann could do a bit of research into why we've been so bad these last 5 years and will probably come up with the same answers and explanation we've come up with, but i would prefer Grant McCann to come manage the footballing side of things ;):joy:

Could you honestly see this collection of amoebas currently masquerading as a football team winning a game of such magnitude? :joy:

McCann seems nailed on for the Posh gig. There was little chance of attracting him here anyhow.

If we are looking for a DOF then it’s a good coach rather than an old style manager we need

I would rather we bring in a manager who is keen to prove himself and is on the way up, rather than go down the route we did with Adams who thinks because he has had a bit of success elsewhere he is untouchable from criticism and seems to think we were lucky to have him.

If you look at Wild at Halifax, he has them punching way above their weight. They are 4th in the league against teams such as Stockport, Chesterfield, Wrexham, Notts County etc who are trying to buy themselves out of the league.

I'm not sure I would go for him, but he is an example of a manager who will look to prove himself to move up the leagues rather than a Grayson, Adams, etc who seem to think they are at a level higher than Bradford and they have proven themselves before.

We also need to make a replacement this season, so that manager gets to review the squad we have and will have an idea of who needs shipping out and who we are looking to keep. We do not want to be cutting players or retaining players without a manager in place otherwise that ties their hands before they have even stepped foot in the door.

Fowler or Woodgate - perfect. Will be ambitious and world wide the club on the map.

More revenue from TV companies and overall coverage.

Wild is a shout but could be too big for him. Halifax are not top of the NL but punching.

Can't see us paying any compo for anyone.
Unless we're coming to some agreement with Adams before he signs back with Morecambe.

At the moment I have zero faith in those running the club. My expectations are someone cheap and some spin about a new season ticket campaign to look forward not back.

It is highly likely that the teams who come up from the national league this year will be far stronger that those who go down, and in the case of teams like Stockport, Wrexham, etc. They have the financial backing to be contenders in this league next season whilst we get left further behind.

You may have a point but cost controls don’t apply in the National League, however, once promoted these clubs have to comply with the Salary Cost Management Protocol which governs the ratio of wages to income. Think it’s 55% for L2. Stockport, Wrexham and Chesterfield plus others will struggle to comply in which case owners have to make up any overspend themselves. Could be an issue according to Trevor Birch but the NL were given the option of applying it this season and declined. Probs ahead maybe.

The Stockport and Wrexham owners will be happy to pay up any overspend. They're signing League 1 players for the NL.
