Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't clubs pay their sacked managers their wage until they get get another job, and then make a lump sum payment if that new job is on less than they earned at the club they were sacked from.

I might be wrong, but I'm sure a few years ago I read that Chelsea had up to four previous managers still on their payroll.

If that is the case, then paying Adams off is not the massive burden it could be. Bowyer, Stuart & Trueman have all got other jobs so they will be off the books and I doubt we are paying Sellars much on a monthly basis.

No Im used to change thats the problem, look how many managers we've had and nothings changed other than removing money from the club to pay them out.

 

Scott Sellars is the Technical Director and Head of Academy at Wolves.

 

Excellent job for him, no wonder he didnt take up our offer of whatever role we had fudged for him. Also means he is off the payroll. Move Evans and ROD on and we have the money freed up to be able to dispense with Adams in the hope that he picks up another job quickly.

That means sacking him isn't the financial burden it appears.

 

I think that Wolves Scott Sellars is not our Former Assistant Manager.

 

He has just aged a bit

 

This hits the nail on the head for me. Callum Cooke is a prime example of how constantly switching can impact a player. He was signed by Bowyer and played a defensive central midfield role. Then McCall came in and played him in the middle of a 442. Then Trueman & Sellars gave him a more attacking role supporting the striker. Now Adams has chosen to use him as a sort of utility player with him featuring behind the striker, on the left and in defensive midfield positions so far this season. It's the Bradford City revolving door effect on players.

I think the wider argument for sticking with Adams outweighs the argument for sacking yet another manager at this point in time because the revolving door strategy has been so damaging. It's probably going to continue being turgidly frustrating for a while but the club is in dire need of some stability.

That said, jumping ahead slightly and looking at the Harrogate game on Saturday and I fear how that could be a tipping point. Saw a video of Oldham fans unleashing fury on their players a few weeks ago and couldn't help picturing a similar scenario for our game there. Another loss to Harrogate would rubber-stamp the mediocre nature of the club at the moment and with the away end is so close to the pitch and the players tunnel, there's no hiding place for players & manager.

Come on guys let’s give Derek the full 46 games as he’s requested before we unleash fury on the last game of the season when he’s failed to get us into the play offs.
Flip side of that is if we are in the play offs I doubt there will be any moaning.

After watching one of the worst games of football for a fair while (and that's saying something after the last 4 or 5 years) I hear Adams coming out with that shite. The sooner he fecks off the better.

 

His interviews are the only thing worse than his tactics. It’s like a car crash you have to listen knowing whatever comes out of the idiots mouth is going to annoy you!!!!!
