You're over-egging it a bit. They were trying not to answer specific questions about any particular club that's why they switched it around and asked the other two fans what advice they would offer. The problem was everyone on there commentating was assuming it was Bradford City they were buying and talked about specific elements which was what they were trying to avoid.

 

I listened to it. At no point did they say they didn't know we didn't own the ground. They clearly said that they couldn't say too much as to avoid giving the identity of club away and so quickly moved on. You're grasping at straws there.

 

Just before that the fan asks him what will you do with the ground and the training facilities.

He replies he cant talk about plans or whatever “due diligence” but yet is talking to a forum full of JUST city fans. It absolutely stinks. “is a bantam a *@?$” embarrassing. I hoped the twitter space would encourage me its done the opposite. Very unprofessional in my opinion.

People are wont to overcomplicate the process of NFTs as ownership - but think of it like a specific type of share that doesn't mesh with everyone else's shares, it doesn't really matter what form it takes. It can be a certificate, it can be a virtual membership card, it can be a picture of a monkey wearing a baseball cap.

This is, I guess, simplified, but the Green Bay Packers in the NFL are effectively owned by a model of fan-owned NFTs, and the Brewdog 'buy a share' initiative is also pretty much a form of NFT ownership. The 'shares' issued have no rights to a dividend or actual stock in the company, and what they mean is pretty much up to whoever issued them. That can be anything from the right to vote on certain matters, access to exclusive merchandise or a discount on tickets. It's effectively just a token of ownership - a bit like those 'buy an acre on the moon' things that were in vogue about 15 years ago. The fact that you own it doesn't materially mean anything, but all it means is that ownership of that thing is unique to whoever buys it.

They can be a pretty powerful fundraising initiative, and they're often used in the world of startups to raise capital in a way that makes the person buying the NFT feel a part of the experience - and in theory, generate an asset that can appreciate in value.

 

If Rupp doesn’t sell there needs to be transparency as to why and his intentions are for the club-will he actually invest?

 

He's not likely to invest when he's gone cheap on every appointment he's made (bar Adams, perhaps) and overseen the assembly of a budget squad to be overseen by a manager used to working on a shoestring.

None of it screams investment to me.

 

then if there is legitamancy to these guys he should sell. One of them is the president of a NBA team so there is some awareness of sports marketing though different in the American system.

I’d also argue Adams was probably a cheaper appointment than Grayson, Bowyer, Hopkins

I love how people write potential owners off before a bid has even been lodged. Personally I don’t think it’ll happen but should it they’d get my support, nobody starts off a bad owner they just turn into one like our current one which some want to stay. Bizarre.

They didn’t the Italian was the first, apparently they were the owners to ‘take the club forward’. Forward must mean something else in football. Give me a risk strategy over a slow death any day of the week. A business that stands still regresses over time and that’s exactly what we are doing. I’m already considering if to renew my season ticket for the first time in 25 years if Rupp and our ‘sustainable’ model are still here. I imagine I’m not the only one, if he gets a buyer and refuses there could be big backlash. Especially when the inevitable crap January window and mediocre performances keep coming.
