I'd recommend it. We had a day out in October using Northern Rail's £1 ticket promotion. Had a fab Greek meal. Visited the cathedral and the really interesting Tullie House Museum. Didn't have time for the castle.

 

To be honest, I think they all just got a bit excited and thought "yes! We've made a decision to buy a football club" but didn't actually think that they should probably engage properly with the current owners and finalise everything before sharing more publicly. As support for that I'd put forward all the tweets that were recently deleted and the chap who was on the forum yesterday but has since gone AWOL.

I just think they got a bit too excited and ahead of themselves.

 

Rupp's statement is quite interesting. He states that a takeover is not 'imminent', not that it won't happen in the future. He then states that he has received an offer by email but that no further action has been taken. In other words, it has neither been accepted nor declined. I think if the whole thing was a non-starter it would have been made clearer that this was so in the statement. As it is, it could mean that, or it could mean that negotiations have indeed taken place, an offer has been made and so far neither accepted nor declined , implying that negotiations would continue. I don't know if we will be taken over by these guys, or if it would be a good thing or a disaster, but the fact that the approach has not been dismissed out of hand suggests to me that there is something that is being considered. And then there are the rumours of other interested parties. All very murky but I suppose we'll find out more in the coming days.

 

Yes they have used their money better than us we have continually got it wrong on the pitch. It was interesting there were people on here who didn’t like Lawn and Rhodes who pointed out they were lucky because they had Parky. Are we unlucky because we haven’t found another Parky

 

I think you are missing the point Parky used the available monies well. During his time as sole owner Rupps managers haven’t.
We have to use whatever monies are available better because whether it’s Rupp or another in the future break even will still need to be achieved

 

Honestly, it has all comes across a bit like an idea developed in the pub over many pints, where exuberance outweighs key market knowledge.

NFTs, bitcoin, cryptocurrency etc is very funky, but what isn't clear is who is actually going to stump up somewhere north of at least £6m in cash, who is going to provide the cash to help the club kick on and what return on this money is to be expected.

I've seen posts above speculating about the ability to make £100m in PL. Well, I think we could easily spend that over 5 years just to get there. Where is that money coming from?

I think @SimonW has explained the situation very well and I am struggling to see how this works for Bradford City.

 

That is not a good look for any new owners.


I am absolutely shocked by the sudden lack of any pessimism as soon as any new owner comes in.

This is the same fan base who said the signings we've had this summer were poor, who said we wont have a penny to spend in January.

if a large benefactor came in who 1) is incredibly wealthy 2) is an actual football fan and understands it.

sign me up.

but these people are literally saying we will get funds from selling NFTs which are worthless. What would they do if a new market suddenly becomes very regulated or banned?
They stop putting any money into the club, they cant afford to fund the club. Straight into admin.


How many people welcomed rupp and edin into the club? I’ve learnt my lesson.

What ever the does and donts about these rumours and whoever does eventually come in, to progress in the EFL we need investment which we have been incredibly short of these last few years.

Whatever happens now, there’s going to be pressure on Rupp to either back Adams in the window or accept the offer. To do nothing and maintain the status quo won’t wash. There’s massive frustration at the continued decline and this offer, whether good or bad has awoken a fanbase that want more than we’re seeing at the moment.

I doubt he feels any pressure at all except the thought he might lose a lot of money. It’s the people below him who will be under pressure. Improvement on the pitch and from the management team is required

 

It’s time to sh*t or get off the pot. I doubt he’ll sell for less than he wants, so unless he intends to pump money into the club, why exactly would he block the sale.
