Not sure he'd have to admit to anything, when FCD took over from Threlkeld he had a couple of games where he looked unsteady but I thought he did well and was disappointed he brought Threlkeld straight back when fit.
I like a good challenge (old school) but the first could have been a red and the second was definitely another yellow, he's not a kid learning the game we could and some would argue should have been down to 10 men after that reckless second challenge.

 

Yes. The way Foulds adapted to the right hand side yesterday, I'd also give him a whirl to see if he could settle into the right back position. It's noticeable how Adams persists with some serial non performers, yet doesn't show the same patience with others.

 

Foulds is getting better by the game for me. Lest we forget, apart from his short spell at Como in Italy, this is his first experience of first team football.

 

Well done Finn. Been on the bench a couple of times and now played the full 90. Excellent for him.

 

Sat is the time for him to start again. Never let anyone down before. Threlkeld is a player Adams knows from Plymouth but based on his City performances he’s hardly nailed the RB spot down.

 

I'd like him to play but Adams is allergic to the kids. They only play when "a proper first teamer" is injured. Old school manager, stuck in his ways unfortunately.

 

Played well today against one of the division’s better sides. Brave in the tackle and deserves to retain his place.

 

A lot of effort but still some way from being a permanent starter. Made the mistake for the goal and sometimes is looking around for where to be positional.

Even if he'd not have slipped though why did we have 5 players breaking on 1 (2 if FCD maintained his footing)?

We have two "defensive minded" midfielders all game which sees us struggle to create offensively but a single long ball can cut them both out and leave us wide open once our centre halves have progressed for a set piece?

I have to ask, why the f**k are we playing them both for then?

His slip was just unlucky IMO. Plus, it was on the halfway line. Our lack of mobility cost us and no one could get over to Pinnock.

Questions again should be asked of our set piece that led to the goal.

 

The lad is a red card waiting to happen. His 'strong' challenge yesterday would have seen him sent off by most refs. You just cannot challenge like that anymore.

He does have potential, but not ready for a regular right back spot in my opinion.

I know it doesn’t matter how we score our goals and a 30 yarder screamer scores the same amount as a 1 foot tap in but can anybody realistically see us scoring a goal like they scored yesterday where a player runs from his own half completely unchallenged?
Or the Forest green equaliser where the player again runs from his own half and apart from a lazy lunge from Paudie is relatively untouched.
Last week at Port vale Vernam fresh airs one in their box and 30 seconds later it’s in our net.
Apart from Sutton who gives us a bit of forward momentum from midfield who else has got any pace at all?

 

Neither are Darbs, McMahon quality, Admittedly, but Threlkeld is error prone every game. He deserved a red himself at Port Vale and has looked uncomfortable at RB in nearly every game he’s played this season.

of the young lads I think Staunton is most ready for the first team, then Finn, so I do think he might be back on the bench when OT is fit, annoyingly, given Staunton’s opportunities have ended short term with him being loaned out.
