You can predominantly blame the ref in this instance, not only was it a foul it was also a handball when it bounced up and he knocked it into his path, disallow the goal we win one nil, simple as that

Looking at the reply, we should have played to the whistle, we had enough time to cut the run out.

Cook missed an absolute sitter just before half time.

For their goal, the lads run the length of the pitch - blame POC for diving in ridiculously and then the 2 players who their lad waltzed through. Its not the first time that schoolboy, rash defending by POC has cost us

There's a clear pattern. We create more chances than the opposition but poor finishing and select moments of poor defending mean we drop points. Same yesterday

Also BH, that lad running from his own half with the ball, right into our penalty area should have been stopped in the middle of the park one way or another. Be cynical, take one for the team - do whatever is necessary to cut out the danger. No way should that equaliser have been allowed to happen.
Very very poor from the players.

Cook's miss was terrible FB. It looked a bad miss from the Sunwin, but when you see it again on the highlights, it was shocking - no excuses whatsoever.
Any player, no matter at what level, puts that away with ease.
If we are having 'Goal of the season', then Cook's miss must be 'Miss of the season'

Trouble with our fan base and I suppose people on general is we always need someone or certain people to blame when things go wrong instead of accepting it’s not good enough across the board, it wasn’t just one reason why we drew yesterday there were several:

Ref was a shocker, I know it’s not the cool thing to blame refs on here as people just think it’s making excuses but he does his job right we don’t concede regardless.

Cook missed a sitter, that goes in we’re 2-0 up and they don’t get back in the game regardless of the shit ref.

Defending after the refs incompetence, take the game out of the refs hands and do the basics and stop the guy running through our hole team!

Adams not going for it. For me I’d have brought Vernam on for Cook who blows out of his backside after 70 minutes and played to hurt them on the counter, might not of worked but worth a try. Adams talked about it’s how many points you have at the end of the season that counts so to me this means he was probably happy with a draw against top.

All these are reasons we didn’t win, and I doubt it’ll be the last time we can throw out these. But let’s be honest this team isn’t really any better than mid table, as I said after the Swindon and Rochdale wins, still plenty of poor games to come. This went better than I’d have expected a couple of weeks ago tbh. We need more quality if we are to challenge.

It was a bad one. We need more quality up top. I'm worried that Adams sees Angol as the answer, which I think would be a big risk

It was a good set up yesterday the three centre halves all played well and Foulds is deputising well. The midfield is probably one good player short and we definitely need a good second striker then I think we will have a team to challenge

They may have played well for the majority of the match, but watch the replay of their goal back and tell me again that the 3 centre backs played well.

On a positive we've played two teams above us now and have been the better side in both, albeit there wasn't much in yesterday's game. We do lack that bit of quality which Adams has already alluded to and that would see us around the top three. This division has no stand out teams, we reduced the form team in the division to one effort on goal, which unsurprisingly for us this season they scored from. Couple that with the fact we again created scoring chances suggests this team isn't far off getting it right. Just not clinical at both ends of the field to consider automatic promotion.

Spot on. We need a quality striker. And I'd be interested to see Songo'o and Canavan as a 2, and whether that could bring Cooke or Vernam back into the side. POC is a liability

But thats once the entire game. We look solid now our fullbacks aren't being exposed. The law of averages means you can't keep getting punished for one or two lapses of concentration, in that sense we've been unlucky in a division where teams generally waste chances.

Two upfront is a must. Shame Lavery picked up an injury, hes played well in the last two games and we looked a better team with him on yesterday. We're probably a Graham Carey or a Josh Cullen type player away from being a decent side, I know that's two really decent examples but it's genuinely what we lack, that real piece of quality.

It’s a very popular misconception tge feet on the pitch thing from throw ins. The law allows it - what is required is some part of both feet behind the line ( ie off the pitch).
As kids we were all taught not to put feet on pitch at all but in fact that’s not the law.

I have a lot of time for Cook at this level but he doesn't fit the lone striker role particularly well and needs a second one to take the pressure off of him. Yesterday, he had three good chances all of which came from set pieces. It's good that set pieces are now creating more opportunities than we've seen in recent times but Cook needs to do better. I don't recall one example of an opportunity created by or for him in open play. Most teams have now sussed him and that he doesn't play well in open play against strong defenders particularly when he is the sole focus of the strikers. Whether Angol is the player to be Cook's partner in the near future remains to be seen but only once he gets off the treatment couch! Lavery in fairness has looked good in his recent appearances and offers movement which puts a different pressure on the defenders. But now instead he'll be filling the treatment couch position for several weeks.

We looked light of another striker before the summer transfer window closed but failed to bring in somebody who can take the weight off Cook's and/or Angol's shoulders. We're paying the price for that mistake.

I see Cole Stockton scored another beauty yesterday, Tshimanga scored again for Chesterfield. There is that bit of quality out there, unfortunately I can't see us looking for it in January. Those missed chance could well be the thing that defines our season, if it is then our owner and CEO will need to answer some questions at the end of this season.

Their change of tactics at the start of the second half yesterday seem to involve not challenging Cook for the first aerial challenge and just mopping up his flick ons. Not massively impressed with Robinson and agree that we need a bit of quality in January.
Whether we get it or not will remain to be seen but like most I’m not holding my breath.

All we need up front is a loanee who wants to score goals. He will get lots of chances with us.. To be fair I thought Eisa was the man but another glass legs man
