Adams brought his own people in and all the talk was about a reduced playing budget there was no secret. And Adams is trying to cover his own failings. He has time to turn it around let’s hope he can

Going to be tough to find a buyer in this climate for any team, but given it's public knowledge that Rupp wants his £10M back in order to sell up, there's no chance it's happening any time soon. No buyer would even come close to that valuation for a club that doesn't even own it's own ground, with a huge rental price along with us renting our training facilities.

Even if there was a public backlash and verbal calls from the fans for him to sell, it's water off a ducks back to Rupp when he's never there to hear any of it. He's a businessman with success for a reason (outside of football), with little chance he'll sell an asset for a huge loss. Cant imagine any potential buyer would even offer half of what he wants. Just doesn't seem an appealing purchase for the price tag.

Morecambe fan in peace here. Let's be frank - you've probably got a decent budget still. Your season ticket sales alone will probably have been far greater than our entire budget last season.

But if Adams proved anything with us, money isn't everything!

The recruitment director getting the chop was not entirely surprising. Adams never struck me as someone who would want to delegate something that important, particularly to someone who was already at the club before he arrived and wasn't 'his guy'. Imo an expansion of the recruitment department that Adams would enjoy would be more scouts/analysts who follow his exact specifications and report directly to him.

Recruitment directors are there to think about the long term plan etc, while Adams is someone entirely focused on winning the next game of football. It was never going to be a good mix.

That said, Adams would presumably have had some say (even if he was reluctant on some players) on all of them, and a few of the signings are pretty clearly his choice entirely. Songo'o and Threlkeld are the obvious ones, but Angol and Ridehalgh also spring out - they both had very good games against us last season. Cook seems like one he'd have approved of as well, given he appears to have a few similarities to Stockton in his hold up play skills.

You're on a bad a run but that is probably a lot down to injuries. Even then, overall your results so far are probably mid-table, so nothing disastrous. The underlying numbers still look good (as they did for us for most of the season), and the goals will start going in at some point. Stockton missed a load of chances first half of the season, but Adams backed him and now look at him.

We never suffered anything like the injury issues you are having until the last couple of games of the season, but by that point the whole team was just so well rehearsed and laser focused on winning we managed to pull through.

So stop chucking your toys out of the pram! It's a long season. Adams is not a prolific long term planner at a club but he is completely focused on winning and good at it, despite a bad run. Some of the stuff posted on here is daft - he's completely worth backing to try and get you up.

He never said how much by though did he? As I posted earlier during the recruitment - the players were ones that seemed to indicate a significant reduction from previous seasons. Sparkes and or Rupp appear to have put a lot of faith in Adams doing it on the cheap and the recruitment of the fitness area looks like it is - based on the outcomes to date.

Yes we know the playing budget was lower due to the club getting big earners off the books.
I'm just saying Adams was given less than he was promised.
As soon as Songo was over the line and the ST campaign had ended, it was obvious the tap was turned off.
Both the fans and Adams have been taken for a ride IMO

Yet we fans accepted a 30% + increase in season tickets prices, the total sold was far more than the previous season so why a reduced budget.
The club have done well with regards increased funding through sponsorship, whilst promoting the idea this was the season the club was going all out for promotion..

Where did I say compared to others?
Other teams were only mentioned with a view to income.

Not sure your comment with regards brexit, pandemic are deterants to someone buying the club to build a future going forward.
I believe it might have more to do with what we hear Stefan wants for Bradford City FC, he will not get what he paid for the club back in May 2016 we are a long long way from where we were as a club back then.

so if you are not comparing it to others what are you comparing it to to claim it is poor. Do you even know what the budget was? Has it just been badly spent by management?

Thanks fella! This club really does need some stability and I'm hoping he fact he's been poached means we give him time. Glad that someone outside the club thinks the same.

I think that was to cover the lack of budget from rupp. Club needed to make it up.

That might be the case, so why are we told this is the season with regards promotion if Ryan knew the extra monies generated would not be given to Adams, it see strange if Rupp is fully behind this promotion push he would expect money back that he will not cover, we know in the past season ticket income was the budget Parky was given for the oncoming season.

I think the extra monies were given to adams but previous season rupp topped it up for the budget. This season he stopped topping it up. It is clear rupp is not keen on club and does need to sell up.

Derby isn't really a good comparison. They fiddled the books to break salary caps and are paying the price for overspending on poor quality. Had they got the signings right and been promoted they wouldn't be in this mess.
