Weird though, isn't it. You'd think a professional footballer watching from the sidelines would think "oh, Lee does x, y, z and gets in some good positions, I'll give that a try" but seemingly they don't watch to learn or try new things because there's no reasons Vernam or Crankshaw couldn't try and replicate some of what Lee did from a positional sense. Maybe that's a league two level way of thinking?

Just asking because I don't know. What does Robinson have? Is he fast? Skilful? Big? Good in the air? Holds it up well? Poacher? I know nothing about him

Target man type who's presumably not as quick or agile as he was in his younger days. His record actually isn't that bad. Its his spell at Poet Vale that looks to have been notably poor, or at least perceived as poor. Anyway, its done now, lets see what he's got. Just feels like a missed opportunity to push the boat out a little, but none of us know what the market was really like.

    In a word No.

Take last season at port vale out of the equation and the season prior he was outscoring Andy Cook, Padraig Amond, James Hanson, and Lee Novak in the league , and was in the top ten league goalscorers, level on league goals with Vaughan.

we do need to get behind him now, if he can get up to fitness quickly he could well do a job.

My brother watches Southend occasionally to report on football for a local community radio station. I asked him what sort of striker Robinson is, and this is his reply.

"I thought he was pretty good the few times I saw him for Southend. Very quick as I recall and he was probably unlucky not to establish himself as a regular, although they had other decent strikers like Simon Cox at the time. Famously put Ipswich out of the FA Cup when he was at Lincoln as well (when they were in the National League)."

He supports Ipswich, which explains why that fact about Robinson has stuck in his memory.

Read that he was supposed to have some pace. If he's half as good as another Jamaican we had then he should do OK! ;)

During his spell at Colchester "He scored at a rate of one every 157 minutes during his loan spell, a statistic bettered only by Eoin Doyle in League Two".

    Perspective.

Funny you should say this, I mentioned the very same thing to someone last night about having a league 2 mindset. It was the big difference between the teams last night and I think it's something that annoys Adams. It's not that they can't play at that level, most of that team that played last night have, but it's that speed of thought and awareness of the space around them that allows Lincoln the luxury of playing in a higher league. I think Adams is capable of changing that mindset in the team as a whole but not with a number of players in this squad. Sometimes it just a player or two in pivotal positions, we dont have a league 1 quality finisher or a midfielder the quality of Bridcutt. Give us those two and I think we go up automatically.

According to Ryan Sparks interview in the T&A we have actually stretched out budget this transfer window but felt we had to give Adams additional backing.

I’m not one to say we should be chucking money around for the sake of it, but in a league where the likes of Sutton, Barrow and Harrogate play and many more tinpot clubs Bradford City shouldn’t be even challenged budget wise by most excluding money bags Salford. Yet why does it feel like we’re a mid table budget and missing out on first choice targets all the time. If we’ve stretched the budget then judging by what we’ve brought in it must have been incredibly low this season.

Once we'd shifted a couple of the bigger earners this summer, the budget was slashed.
Mr Rupp wanted to recoup some the money coming our way.
That's why the urgency to get Adams on board.
Not to give him a decent budget to take us up in the top three, but to get us up the Morecambe way.
We've a reasonable first 11, once injuries, suspensions and loss of form kick in, you'll see ( even now) we've a weak underbelly.
I said it a few weeks back, if we go up, it'll be via Wembley ...
Unless that is. We're really lucky with injuries, and when are we ever lucky with injuries ?

Excellent. Hub by Premier Inn booked for the Saturday night at £60 (Spitalfields - my favourite place in London). Alerts in place for cheap trains. I'm all set...............

Cheers Dave. So according to his interview he can do all the things he asked.. Plus he's the only person I've heard who thinks Adams wanted him!
