Makes sense but I’d be shocked if the majority of fans at City who wear them follow that protocol.

I have spent a week reviewing my attendance at last Saturday's home match and, after a great deal of thought, I have made my decision, I will no longer be attending live matches.

As someone who has been designated 'clinically extremely vulnerable, I have decided it is just not worth the risk.

And it wasn't just the match itself, the return rail journey wasn't great either, especially the leg between Huddersfield and Manchester Piccadilly, which was rammed full of hundreds of drunk people (doing the Huddersfield to Manchester pub crawl).

So, after 45 years of attending almost all City's home and away matches, I have decided to call it a day. I will now have to content myself with following City from afar, starting with today's match at Mansfield.

Sad that you feel you can't go but certainly don't blame you. I got pinged after the match Tuesday and have had to go for a PCR test which fortunately came back negative but I'm still gonna isolate and do the home tests I'm more worried about passing it on than I am of having it.

I don't blame those who don't want to wear a mask but there are idiots out there we had someone at work go for a PCR test come into the office without knowing the result and get a positive text while sat there the absolute moron. The bigger concern for me are these idiots because there will be people attending the matches knowing they might have it but are so selfish they can't put others ahead of themselves and miss one or two games.

That's a shame @StaffordBantam@StaffordBantam I too have am vulnerable, but was not in the shielding category. I sit at the back of A block in Midland Road and felt quite comfortable with nobody behind or in front of me and sensible neighbours who I know well. Exiting the stadium on Saturday was not so good, but Tuesday night was much better for waiting a bit and a larger proportion of those exiting later seemed to wear a mask.
I have taken the decision not to attend away matches which I normally do for the time being. I don't fancy coach travel with people I don't always know. Also viewing the Oldham away fans, it looked like a covid incubation camp. I imagine it will be similar for City away. I might put my toe in the water once infection rates improve and there is an away fame with a seating area and standing. Seating likely to be safer in that scenario.

Well, after much deliberation and taking on board the good advice of fellow posters, after almost 2 decades as Midland Roaders we have reluctantly decided to relocate to a less populated section of the Main Stand. We'll be up in the gods so I'll need my binoculars but at least we will be back at Valley Parade cheering on the Mighty Bantams. Thanks to Mick at the ticket office for being so helpful. Can't wait for the Walsall match. C'mon City!!

Cases are now rising fast and it’s summer won’t be long before some restrictions are reintroduced

Look at it this way......almost 1 million positive cases a month and approx 2,500 deaths in the same period, but what more can we do..?

You will have a massive pushback if you try to implement restrictions again. Yes cases are high and deaths are at a rising level, but for the people you want to lockdown they simply won't accept it now as they can see they can go about their own lives with very little risk.

Not rising at all, they are steady at around 30,000 a day and have been for weeks. Likewise deaths at 100

Another lockdown will lead to civil unrest. I know quite a few who are vaccinated that are fed up with being told you can't do this and can't do even though they have followed guidelines.

Not all deaths announced die that day. Many of those will have died on Sunday when only 40 were announced.

Weirdly England is relatively static (even more so if you ignore the recent Cornwall rise) but Scotland is shooting up. Can't figure out a reason for the difference.
