Wow - so enjoyed the last 2 games. Team clicked tonight.

Afraid I can't agree with posters about FCD - definite weak link ATM - the sooner Threlkeld is back the better for me.

Buzzing after that. Can't remember any recent game where we dominated to that degree from start to end. So many positives only concern is Angol's injury, hope it's not serious.

If that's our dour counter attacking nick a win style, I'm a fan!

Vernam surely undroppable after that, he was immense. Loved his link up with the full back, we were bossing it down that left wing

 

Well that was a dominant performance.

We absolutely tore them to pieces down the left hand side and Cook even with 3 goals to his name was running and chasing every ball till the end.

A fantastic team performance with chances and shots flying in from everywhere.

If we had walked off the park with 7 or 8 Stevenage couldn't have complained.

Roll on Saturday.

 

That performance was born out of a team that had taken pre season with a massive level of imprortance and fully understood exactly what the manager wants them to do because pre season meant something to him other than fitness.

 

I think they said that Wells scored the last hat-trick for City in League 2

What a game, so glad I was wrong with my dour 0-0 pre game prediction. After half time I expected us to sit back a bit more but that 15-20 minutes after half time was some of the best football I’ve seen from us in years, total attack v defence. So many good performances don’t really want to single anyone out, but suppose old Cooky boys hatrick needs a shout out. Even if his presence isn’t there…..

 

Cook was immense tonight, even after the first half hat trick was still chasing and harassing their defenders.

It felt for the first time in years that I was watching a TEAM.!

Some of them (cook/Vernam/gilly) completely unplayable, hats off to every one of the players tonight , we will be a force with this hungry committed bunch tearing oppo teams a new one!

Derek Adam’s is the man, feels like we are in for a good season, I just hope we can keep Cook fit, his finishing is pure class. Angol needs to sack the pens, feeble!

Great result and fantastic performance - and as for that 15 minutes just after half time- wow! just cant believe we didn’t score in that period. Cook and Vernam both had great games, but Cooke was my man of the match- he set the tone and dictated the play, beating players with trickery, spreading the balls out to the wings and dominating the midfield area. Exciting times!
