Undoubtedly. But the angst was enormous. Nothing winds me up quite as much as when tech stuff doesn't work as you think it should.

Ridehalgh challenge in the first half and maybe FCD in the second. Both were as the attacker was crossing the ball.

Either or both could have been given. The second one was especially rash.

There was a bit of a nudge early on by Ridehalgh but it would have been extremely soft. I'm only up to the 28th minute so I'll let you know if I see anything else.

Apparently shirt pulling is no longer a foul going by our first two games?

Letting the game flow certainly makes for a better spectacle D.

I much prefer it than the old stop/ start nonsense .

One was definitely the tackle that lead to their baldy assistant manager ranting to the 4th official and getting a yellow for it. Think it was on their player who was trying to channel his inner Grealish with the short socks and girly headband.

Absolutely agree. Loving the new interpretations by referees since the Euros. Long may it continue.

Yeah that was the second one. Looked like a poor challenge to be fair and I think I'd have been screaming for one had it been the other way.

Me too. Noticed that players are getting up really quickly as well when they realise they are not getting soft free kicks.

In these early days, certainly adding to the entertainment. Much more fluid is the game.

I thought they were unlucky not to get a penalty when Cousin Dawson fouled their lad inside the area it was a bad challenge and he would have been off too I think it was 3 1 at that point

Could have changed the game so yeah thinking back they were a tiny little bit unlucky nothing major though and don't remember a second appeal

Cousin Dawson didn't have the best game did he and he was even getting a bollocking when he got his assist for just lumping the ball aimlessly lmao good job Cook was on red hot form

At the risk of being controversial I actually thought FCD got stronger as the game went on.

Having watched the whole game on @Dmitry@Dmitry 's video, I'm struggling to understand how we supposedly had less possession than Stevenage. The first half looked pretty even possession-wise and they hardly got a kick for large chunks of the second half.

Cooke has the most key passes in league 2 so far this season with 12. Interestingly, 3 of the other 5 players behind him are former City players in Guy, Payne and Reeves.

It’s calculated, by the number of passes each team makes. They can be sideways, backwards, on the roof , on row Z. It can be an aimless punt by the centre half to our right back, it can be an aimless pass from the keeper straight into touch.

Say Stevenage did all this 60 times and we did it 40 in the first day 10 mins.
That works out as 60% possession to Stevenage.
It’s hypothetical nonsense extrapolated to suggest that 60% of that time they had control of the ball.

    From Google

During the game, the passes for each team are totalled up and then each team's total is divided by the game total to produce a percentage figure which shows the percentage of the game that each team has accrued in possession of the ball.
