Trueman Appointed Assistant Manager

Truman will listen and learn white working with Adams. Truman lacks experience but is a smart guy and will learn from Adams.

 

Sorry. I read the post I replied to as a standard alone post. Read on its own it sounds as if you are arguing the opposite! Confusion at this end

 

Truman probably is a talented coach but to be a manager you more than that to motivate experienced pros, he will learn that over time.

 

It wasn't the most clear that I was playing Devil's Advocate on that occasion, apologies for the confusion!

Why is it? Have you not seen any of Derek’s interviews when he joined us, or indeed other clubs? He’s on record as saying he assesses the club he’s going to, the personnel, and makes a decision. Sometimes he’ll bring in another coach and sometimes he’ll choose someone from within.
Adams has 500 games under his belt as manager, he’s no mug. If he wanted his own man he would have brought one in no question, but he obviously thinks Trueman brings something to the table.

Clever move from Adams and City.

If things don't go as we expect next season we pin it on the Assistant, a carry-over from the dismal end to the season when he was in charge. City fans have a strange habit of blaming assistant managers so he'll be the perfect fall guy.

 

I don't think that will happen, but you're right about blaming assistants!

It's amazing watching bang average players become world beaters by never playing too, usually coincides with the first choice losing form. Remember Rouven?

Come on Kev, everyone knows if it hadn't been for the *@?$ ups made by the last few assistant managers, Drury, Hopkins, Bowyer and even Stuart would have all been a mighty success.

 

Assistant managers that got blamed for no reason include Wayne Jacobs and Drury(whatever his first name was).

 

I asked for an example as I couldn’t think of one. Looks like there isn’t one, however there are more than enough manager failures to shake a stick at.
