We’ve had some shite from all divisions and all ages, right player for the right positional at the right time I think.
I liked Hosannah, he’s not making Leeds’ first team but if he can stay fit he’d be a good signing on what we saw last season, one of the better players albeit in a squad mostly of shit.

Or even championship lads that aren't getting game time. Now the loans are longer term there's plenty of time to get them match fit in time to make a contribution.

Given we are even more limited than last season with squad members over the age of 21, probably most if not all loaness in the summer would likely be youths might be the thinking across the league. Fill the squad reg places with players who'll likely start on decent money, fill squad gaps on loanees who will be cheap and might play a few times a month.

Yes he has a good reputation in the NL but for any first sight info he did not play against Woking at the end of April - as a general point Torquay play good football and a lot comes through their midfield

Andy Cook totally blew the idea that all loans have to be young prospects out of the water. Find out which decent players at rivals are unhappy but under contract and bosh, get them in on loan.

Fair enough but, I think some have taken it out of context. My thoughts are he's 36, not played much football, lives in the area and is a decent keeper and would potentially take a big pay cut just to get back to the family home and his disabled child. O'Donnell is a poor keeper, flaps at everything and is a very expensive back up.

Hornby is my starter. Given the choice between O'Donnell, Doyle or even Huffer on the bench, if the price is right, I would go with Doyle every day of the week.

He was rushed back by McCall after his first injury when he wasn't ready.

Not seen Hornby play, however, he has never established himself as a number 1 keeper anywhere as far as I am aware, mid 20's now, just wondering why fans think he should be our number 1 keeper now.

For god sake, this isn’t a bloody retirement home for old City players, no disrespect to Billy, but we had him last season and we got burnt and now some clamouring for Doyle……
    Sentimentality gone potty!

Nothing special from what I saw imo, I was hoping we’d not bother with him and go strengthen the GK by bringing in a quality number 1. Don’t think he’s any better than R’OD other than at passing it out of the back, usually to the nearest defender hardly Ederson.

Better handling on crosses and better distribution. Not 100% whether he will sign up if he thinks he is going to be a bench warmer again

    Because he’s a country mile , better than R O’D.

He’s not frightened of coming out, thus commanding at least the 6 yard box. RO’D is like a sacred rabbit, don’t know why, he wasn’t initially, as a result the back line sits too close to the goal line , putting pressure on ourselves. All to protect what RO’D is supposedly protecting. Sorry but the 8-9 games he came in near the back end started the appalling slump precisely because our management duo’s inexperience and panic dropping of Hornby.

The point I was trying to make is, is Hornby good enough to be our number 1 rather than looking for better with a new keeper from elsewhere

Can’t agree USG but certainly DO agree about RO’D, sadly now a keeping liability. The opposition sussed him after his first game back when Hornby was stupidly dropped.
