Hurst looks a shoe in for Grimsby where he made his name

If they don’t get the job I would like to see Truey and Sellars offered new contracts for their youth team roles anyway as a thanks for their hard work. Staunton, Sikora, Scales and Cousin-Dawson have all looked decent supporting the seniors this season and with them now turning our shocking first team slump around, we need to be hanging on to them to keep players coming through.

Inside info or just a guess ??
Would have preferred Nigel Adkins but can't see that happening
If you are correct it's got all the hallmarks of a JR influenced appointment
Good luck to Trueman and Sellers they have done an amazing job but I would have preferred a bit more experience for when things get tough again
    PLEASE PLEASE NOT HOLLOWAY !!!!!!

But they don't have any experience,I thought Sparks was opposed to a rookie or rookies in charge.

If they are good coaches and can motivate with the help of a recruitment team experience is not that important

With the statement Chesterfield put out with regards Lee Turnbull I would suspect he's on his way to Valley Parade so the recruitment wont be a problem, although my preference would be an experienced manager.

I have my reservations about that.
Whilst results and performance levels have improved significantly in the last three games make no bones about it rebuilding Bradford City to an exceptional level is one hell of a task and will require expertise 24/7 it's an hell of a risk if you ask me.

There is a risk in any appointment in the case if Trueman and Sellars if they decide to appoint them I would put them on a rolling contact to see how they go. Others will be recruiting and planning for summer. If the do decide to go that way it suggests to me they are not 100% confident in the applicants for the job

A rolling contract though could see them walkway at any point!

If it is decided that this is the appointment then you need to back them 100%, no half measures!

How long do you exciter us to wait? You do realise the January transfer window is 8 days away?

If we stick with these two and it goes pear shaped once the window has gone then its non league and perhaps extinction for the club. This appointment is absolutely key not only to our long to future but more presently to the immediate one yet 3 games in some are ready to chuck the keys at two lads with 270 minutes experience of first team football. It's bizarre!

Rolling contracts is the last thing our club wants.
It requires stability under strong experienced management.

Yes, they have done a marvellous job. Are they ready to manage the biggest club in league two ? No. We must reward them, but we also must appoint an experienced manager to build us back to a club fighting for the championship.

There needs to be an appointment made before the window opens, whether that be Trueman or Hurst. We can't be going into the window with an interim or caretaker manager. Its probably the most important window in the modern history of the club and a few good wins and performances off the back of a manager sacking does not change that. We need the same number and quality of players as we did a month ago and we need a permanent manager in the club to oversee the transfers aided by Turnbull. If we allow Trueman to oversee the window on an interim basis, results go south and we eventually hire Hurst after the deadline, who's to say those players signed will be appropriate for the new manager? It would be madness and needs resolving either way.

Once the recruitment man comes in (it sounds like he has but its just not been announced) he and Sparks can take control of recruitment. So this mad panic before January isnt so important.

Hand on heart, is Hurst the best choice? It’s a bit ‘meh’ for me. Did well at Grimsby and Shrews. Easy to write off Ipswich. Lacklustre spell at Scunny. Think he’d be a solid appointment and will obviously get behind him but wouldn’t be that annoyed if he went to Grimsby.

I’d give caretakers three more games (i.e the next week) and then hold talks with key senior players in dressing room and get their feedback. Are they the men to keep us up and kick on? If the players support it, give them until end of the season. If they don’t, appoint Hurst or whoever else.

If we perform well against Tranmere, Port Vale and Morecambe, then make the call. There’s no need to rush while we keep winning!

That’s the ideal but it has to be the right person if the club had identified someone like that I think he would be in place. If we get the background in place with a recruitment specialist and maybe a director of football and let these guys carry on from how they have startedi

We have apparently identified the transfer targets for the January window according to Ryan Sparks so presumably they will be the same for whoever is manager
