Adams is doing a cracking job at Morecambe. I read somewhere earlier this week that he has set them up to be difficult to beat and they are a robust side that are not afraid to deploy the dark arts of league 2 to win them matches. Probably what we need right now to drag us away from the dreaded drop zone, as we were far too timid under McCall.

 

On the one hand thats quite a decent record. On the other hand he signed NKP and Mellor.

 

Somehow has them in the play offs just about. Miracle worker!!

 

I think that's because he rarely plays them! I guess that's a positive that he's learnt from his mistake.

 

Very good suggestion. Impressive in his time in Scotland as well with two promotions and a cup final at Ross County. Was surprised he ended up at Morecambe to be honest after doing a good job with Plymouth.

If we are indeed looking at managers in other roles, Adams would surely be a realistic option.

 

I didn’t list his Scottish achievements as some see it as a Mickey Mouse league but you are right. Very good record up there too.

 

Not really Mickey Mouse. That's not really true and a tad unfair, more what I would call uneven. You've got two big clubs, three medium size clubs and then the majority of the rest are what we would rate as League Two/National League standard. That's down to areas of population/finance.
Young players in England and Scotland start out with similar potential, then it's down to coaching and player development, something you need finance for.
Managers/coaches who have the skills to develop players and squads should be able to work North and South of Hadrian's Wall.
Certainly I would prefer Derek Adams to Paul Hurst.

 

Watching games from the stand doesn’t help with that side of the game either.Stood 20 yards away from your assistant is stupid.Wether you like them or not the “dark arts” side of the game is part and parcel of modern football.Get in the 4th officials and linesman’s ears.Bounce ideas off your assistant.
Pick up owt from what their manager is saying.Hard to do this from Row M of the main stand.

I agree with you and Adams over Hurst any day for me too. I more meant the reaction to Hopkin and his achievements in Scotland were somewhat dismissed on here so didn’t post Adams record
