If you take out all the matches he lost and drew, his win rate is 100%.

Sorry from my ultra trustworthy Scunny sources hes "damaged goods" is Hurst. Terrible football; failed to get anything out the players and was soon down the M18 ! Granted Stuart didnt fair much better at Scunny but Hurst had left a mess.

I think its more about seeing this as a "sort of FL level appoointment" whilst having an eye to managing in the National League in 21/22. He certainly will not help with recruiting players in January as he's not the sort of "name" to attact players to sign is he ?

I'll get this in good and early "Hurst Out" !

I'd take Pete Wild over Hurst.

Appreciate that would be a gamble but all the remaining names look pretty uninspiring to me.

Probably, we certainly won’t be attracting anyone who succeeds everywhere they go. So a 50% success rate is very acceptable if uninspiring.

I’ve posted before I’d be open to Adkins if he’s worked with Turnbull and it is him who’s our new recruitment man. Seems to make sense getting someone in who knows how he works, plus pretty successful really as a manager wherever he has been apart from Sheffield United.

my left field choice would be Liam Rosenior with a experienced assistant. Cost comes into this one and maybe he woukdnt come this low but he seems keen to get into management and everyone seems to speak so well of him. Think he’s on a panel to pick a new Fa chairman and always speaks sense on EFl shows when he’s on. Not gonna get the job over Rooney at derby but is part of the first team coaching squad and has been for 2 years. Good experience and knows what it’s like to bring youth through as derby now renowned for it. Might not be the right time for him with where we are and the urgent need for points but I do think he will get a job sooner rather than later. Wage cost may be an issue.

If you asked me a month ago I’d have gone for Cotterill as I think he’s a superb manager at this level but he’s got the Shrewsbury job and won his first two I think.

As for Hurst his football is dire. Negative to the extreme and works with a good defence but not sure it would with us. What has he done apart from Grimsby and nearly take Shrewsbury up? He lost that game and blew the autos before that imo. Think they were top at one stage. Not seen anything to ever get the fuss with Him.

Just fed up of the same shite football with the same managerial merry go round and want a change really.

But he's German so must be a contender as our owner, who has little interest in football and is probably not playing any part in the recruitment process, is also German.

I would be somewhat underwhelmed if we appointed Hurst. I can understand his failure at Ipswich, his first time managing in the Championship and at a club with a low wage bill. He shat the bed at Scunthorpe though, there is no obvious reason why that one was destined to turn out to be a disaster.

There hasn't been much mention of David Flitcroft yet. A bit more obscure than some of the other candidates but if you delve into his record it isn't bad at all. Promotion with Bury and a playoff finish with Mansfield. Again a bit underwhelming but his recent record appears better than Hurst's.

I'll be honest, I can't say I know much about his style of play, but if its as bad as you suggest then its a massive gamble for Sparks given how the fans turned on Bowyer.

That’s who I voted for but seems unlikely now according to those who are “in the know”.

The fans won't turn on the manager this time it will be Sparks if he gets this wrong.

Many question Sparks in the role already. He needs to get this appointment right.

Biased of course but I'd give PdC a go if he applied. If nothing else he'd sort the men from the boys.
