1973/74. If you look at the league table you will see that both teams played 45 matches, but that Scunthorpe have the points for the match that was never played. The programme is something of a rarity as well.

Bring back the 7.15 evening kick offs, time for a few pints after the match without rushing...

    You have an impressive memory!

It probably wouldn't be regarded as a precedent for the EFL since it has been overtaken by the wording of their current Regulations and guidance notes.

My fault thought it was David MCNiven early 1976 at Carrow Road after the VP flu bug incident. John Bond sacked not long after. I stand corrected.

I believe David "Daisy" McNiven joined us in February 1978 in a belated, but ultimately futile, attempt to remain in Division 3.

I think Mick Wood joined us from Blackburn on the same day.

It was the start of the City lottery boom. We broke our transfer record twice getting Wood then McNiven on the same day. We later signed Stephen Baines for a fee, all under John Napier. To be fair they were good signings but as you say not enough to avoid relegation.

Steve Baines went on to become a Football League referee, making his final appearance in that role in 2003 at Valley Parade.

And a bloody good referee, the games he was involved with regarding Bradford City he didn't take shit or the play acting from players, for an ex-player it would be a matter of "be there see it done it".

Its always the ones who get worked up and defensive that are the ones with something to hide.

I love how he says they've done nothing wrong yet also says they've only just moved their young lads away from the first team like they should've done in the first place.

He's a washed up has been.

“If that means we have to go by Government rules when football hasn’t been going by them – I’ve had to suck that one as a very bad tasting sweet, but that’s what we’ve done, and I think we’ve come out of it stronger.”

Holloway added: “I’ve got my gloves on so I don’t touch anything when we’re bringing it all in, and then we spray it all down again. Yeah, I do it well, we do it well. We weren’t sure whether we did, but we did do it well.

“I’d like anyone to come in front of me now and say that you didn’t. Prove it.
    Testing?

“And for anyone to say ‘we should get the points’ I think you’re absolutely pathetic. When it happens to you, I won’t be crying about that.
“Call that football? I don’t. We’ll see on the day when my team plays your team, we’ll see what you’ve got to shout about then.

What else are we supposed to do? we are playing 7 games in 22 days, the fixture list is full as is. 3 more postponements and the EFL would have to extend the season. Is there any other time you can see in your infinite wisdom Mr Holloway?

“Too much background noise when they should just shut up and get on with whatever they’ve got to get on with, and how dare people pick holes in us when I care about my players, I care about my team and I care about everybody.”

We see craters at Grimsby Mr Holloway. Stop bleating on adding to the background noise by playing the pity card when we see what you are doing.

He doesn't even state why they didn't test their players. One off payment and they would have been good to go... Glad Billy Clarke got under his skin the silly Muppet.
