Another jack of all trades by the sounds of it. Doubt this will be the striker.

Spot on with your opening paragraphs.

Part 2. Although I love the idea you are in 'Feeder' team territory here and true to the tribal culture of the game in the UK it is never going happen. You are to some degree accepting (though it is clearly true) that you are never going to be anything other than a League 2, League 1 (Big) maybe Championship team.

There's a reason why most TV money goes to the PL, care to hazard a guess what it is?

Yeah reading up on it family live in greater Manchester and wants a move closer so Bolton would make sense but suppose dosent rule us out and I think he would be a decent signing at this level

A danger there is you don’t sign any players and you get dragged into a relegation fight. The squad is paper thin and lacking in any quality up front. We’ve all seen how heads dropped last season when we went a goal behind, it that mentality sets in AND we’re stuck with the current squad with a few injuries and suspensions. How’s that going to end? How’s finishing say 21st going to look to players recruited for next season.
I agree with you to some extent but it’s a risky strategy. Get it right and you’re ok, get it wrong and it could be way more expensive than signing a few players now

See I always think people get too caught up in the feeder club thing. Let's be honest if you are a club who hasn't been PL already you are unlikely to ever be premier league, even a bunch of the previous PL clubs stand very little chance of getting back. After all just to survive they will have to sell on some of their best players, let alone to have the money to strengthen the team in multiple areas. Teams like Burnley and Brighton who have broken in actually did so by basically doing much of what I suggested, taking risks on young players that bigger clubs released, building them up, selling some of the higher value ones to fund investment in multiple areas of the squad, just without the formal help to aid the development not just of the ones they pick up but also ones currently at the club.

And imagine that United aren't sure that Teden Mengi and Ethan Laird aregoing to make it and consider releasing them, they can 'transfer' them to you and pick up part of their wages so they don't need to take a pay cut and keep a pathway open to their dream of being a United first-team player because the buyback exists. You are getting potentially good players you might not have got, paid them wages well below what they would expect as United are picking up the rest and if they really kick on it helps City do well in the league, if United want them back you get a fair fee as part of the buyback and if not you either keep them or sell them on to someone else for a nice payday. It's aiding you without giving up any actual independence

Think that was more when he was a striker. He plays more of a midfield role now for Portsmouth and started there 1st 3 games this season but they’ve now signed Jacobs

    Spot on.

We need to be as attractive as possible to potential loanee clubs and players. It’s all well and good having a big stadium, but we play there once or twice a fortnight. The training centre needs to have a professional feel about it, with proper medical facilities etc. I know from someone I know personally who went out to a league one club last season from the championship. Was injured during the first half of one game and made to play on. That put him out for 6 weeks. An old pro at the loan club told him not to let the physio touch him and to go back to his own club for treatment.
His manager won’t allow players to go back out on loan to that club.

He’s one of the worst players I’ve ever seen in a City shirt. Sure he scored a few goals (14 in 90 odd games I think), but I remember him more for the number of absolute clear cut chances that he miskicked or blazed over the bar. Not for me.
