    Ian Holloway has confirmed that Grimsby have lost the race to sign Omar Bogle, I wonder whether we have shown any interest. Would be a good signing for this level I would have thought

    Obviously Stuart at the time believed Marc McNulty and Haris Vuckic could deliver, he's hardly pulled up any trees in the 4 years since we turned him down, maybe Oxford can get him to show the obvious potential he had at Burnley.

    Is Bogle the type of striker we need 6'3" he is known for his diversity in physical style of play, strength and holding the ball to bringing others into play, we already have 3 like that to varying degrees.

    You could be right,I would think most of his connections will be with clubs in a similar position to City,viz. League one and two,and not with clubs higher up,from which we would like to loan players.

    It's an awkward one with Bogle, on one hand i'm pretty confident he'd be our best striker out of our current crop but he's also another big man and just not the type of player we need right now.

    I would guess that the EFL Rules for Club developed players could have been an attraction with DMH?

    Subject to Regulation 33.12 each Club shall be required to nominate at least one Club Developed Player on their Squad List on each occasion that it is due for submission, or on their Team Sheet of Players for all League Competition Matches (including Play Off Matches).

    There is also a requirement for them to be under 24 on 1/1/2021. https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/efl-rules--regulations/section-5--fixtures/ Again DMH satisfies that rule.

    I initially thought that was the reasoning behind it as well but given we've got the likes of Staunton, Scales etc in the squad that also fill that criteria , I'm starting to think the main reason he was brought back was because he was cheap.

    Probably that as well. This is his ‘make or break’ season, he will no longer be below the age bar next season and if he really is not going to make an impression, then his future will be lower down the pyramid or redundant.
