If the money wasn’t there, I’ve no doubt Stuart would be shouting from the roof top about budgets and having restrictions placed upon him.

Most clubs seem to be waiting to bring players in, so unless a player we genuinely want and who suits our budget, becomes available, it may be best to wait and see. It’s currently a game of poker between players and clubs, with clubs holding the aces in my opinion.

 

That's what I was getting at with my post Bronco. Age is immaterial if a player is good enough, but that show reel Park posted doesn't fill me with confidence that he is.

I agree with your general comment with regards the players we've had over the recent past, but with the exception of Oteh they have not been players who we may have to reply on getting us goals, that IMO is a massive asked of the kid.

 

Now that would be the right way to do things take the lad and make your decision on how he applies himself.

 

I have no doubt we will bring a striker in but 2 things leap out - first we HAVE already been extremely patient as it is now 2 months since we all knew Vaughan was going and secondly, as we have (according to SMc) a clear picture of who we want to bring there is the intrigue as to who we will actually get after holding out for so long!
There are many positives so far but our shortcomings are blatant and now we are up and running where results count I honestly dont think 'wait and see' is where we should be. I expect something will happen this week (but wouldnt bet on it )

I've not seen it and I'm not a big fan of video clips, I remember watching a video clip of Devante Cole and Jordy Hiwula playing for Man Citys U21 and they were a class act together and beating the opposition 6 - 0 but neither have gone on to better things.
Not sure where Devante is now but unless Jordy assigned fof axclub recently hes one of the many who may find they will have to drop their expectations with regards salaries, but I'd still take Jordy a lad we know, Stuart was his manager at the time and wanted to bring him back the following season only to be out bid by Fleetwood.

Your point being "if their good enough their old enough" without doubt those three were good enough but they werent loaned out.
There are many examples but my main concern is that most fans City accept at the moment we lack any sort of pace up top and expecting a 17 year old to come and score goals is a massive ask, I dont know Nixon's record with regards the sucsess rate of his rumours but I would be disappointed if this lad is lined up to take the responsibility of scoring goals on a regular basis, but then again we know past players with good scoring stats dont always continue scoring at Bradford City.

 

Patrick Bamford, Adam Armstrong, Ivan Toney could be classed in that category and I'm certainly not saying in the past some have not been successful.
If as @Park bantam suggests he comes up and has a couple of weeks training for Stuart to asses him that makes sense but not to take him on without seeing him in the flesh.
I'm sure fans will use Burke, Cullen, O"Brien, Stephen Staunton although he only played 8 games for us, Stephen Warnock who also only played 12 games for us an example of players we took without seeing them but I'm not sure we've taken a 17 year old with the aim to solve our lack of goal scoring, I could be wrong but certainly can't remember one ?.
