Id still like a right back and a striker. I would have said a CM too but looks like we have enough, especially when you consider 1/2 of the kids play there.

 

He never was. Someone on here threw his name out as a suggestion, it was never anything more than that.

 

Not sure about interest from City, however, Exeter want him back for a 2nd season on loan, and reported interest from Blackpool too

I cannot see us paying a decent fee, which would surely be required, to prise Rose away from Mansfield. I personally suspect we are looking at potential loan signings for both striker and right back

Stuart has said he may look at strengthening other positions rather than right back.

Now, it could all be bobbins but if he's not looking to strengthen right back then we're is he looking (aside from strikers) - Central midfield?

 

Its an interesting point, just think if something happens to Watt or Cooke - not a lot of backup there and such a key position if we are to make a serious impact this season

 

Be a great time to make a signing of the right substance - we have a slightly more positive and captive audience after the win at Bolton, the real prospect of further success against Lincoln which could lead to an exciting game for our young lads against Liverpool. I am a great believer in the value of momentum in football and be a good PR stroke by the club

In the friendly we played against Huddersfield, Aaron Rowe looked perfect for our right wing back role. Would've thought he'd be here by now though, unless Huddersfield are waiting to do their own business first.

 

I think Stuart's comments after the Bolton win are telling. He seems to be placing cautious faith in the younger lads. And with the salary cap, I think he's going to give them 3 or 4 league games before deciding on what more is needed. Other than a striker - who we know we need anyway, I don't think we'll do anything until the last week of the window.

 

If available , he would appear to be a good loan option for us- however, i think he featured for Huddersfield in their cup loss to Rochdale - so could be in their manager plans. On the other hand if he fielded and was included what their manager considered a weaker team - then he might be available but obviously cup tied.

 

Could be. He was on loan at Bromley last season though, so it would be a big jump to be involved in regular first team football for them. New Manager though, could be that he’s wanting a good look at everyone before letting anyone out on loan.

 

As you said earlier Stuart will most likely assess the RB situation over the next 3 or 4 games, striker we obviously need one and one of quality ASAP. But he might be like me and have been surprised by the start French has made, he was far better than I was expecting and is apparently quicker than Wood according to their speed tests. If he keeps going will we bring a young lad on loan just to play back up? I can’t image the parent club being happy with that. But we definitely need someone, even if it’s a free as cover what’s Luke Hendrie doing these days
