    Balance the books? Thought we were still within the squad budget CAP? If true what is going on? Every thing at the moment appears to point at the tightening of the purse strings.

    McCall has said it numerous times I said on another thread we probably have available about 400k.Depending on how much We use for a new striker and what we keep back for January, there should be enough for two or maybe three new players

    He (Insider Bantam) got the Watt and Sutton signings right early on and then has sort of rode off that reputation since, he just deletes the tweets where he's wrong. He tweeted Vaughan wanted to stay and was committed to the club earlier in the summer, funnily enough - that tweet doesn't exist anymore. Same with the tweets about Longridge heading back to Scotland which is one of those rumours you can come up with just because it sounds likely.

    I don't know about you Park, but with the salary cap and squad size limits I can't really see any point keeping funds back to use in January

    Isn't it about 68-70k a player we can pay now. That would be a good 4-5 players.
    Surely we aren't 400k under our budget!

    No you can spend the whole amount on 1 player if you want. Its a total spend. We could have 20 players on £100 per week and the other £1.4 million on Messi if you want.

    Total budget no cap on individual players to get a decent striker for instance may take up 3 times the average. However if we went for a loan it might be less. Money will have to be kept back for January

    You could throw in Hartlepool and Darlington (both teams we have played lots of times in the past), into the mix. Journey to Morecambe, means traveling over the high Pennines, something which can be awkward in the winter months.

    Ah yes, how could I have forgotten those giants. I pass both often enough.

    we haven’t mentioned Berwick Rangers, Annan Athletic and Queen of the South. Berwick an hour. Annan 75 mins, Q.O.S 1hr 45.

    I once did East Kilbride (just up the road from
    Hamilton Accies) to Newcastle in just over 2 hours after work. Passed Motherwell FC as well.

    Can we assume he's American from his playing credentials? If so, he'll struggle to get a work permit to play soccer in England.

    Maybe he has dual citizenship?
