    So let’s get this right.....the best player we’ve ever had over 2 spells, who captained the side superbly and has an unbreakable bond with 99.99999999999% of supporters, who may have been deemed a failure the first time as manager but certainly in his last spell played the best passing football since the promotion to the premier league season (you know, the one he captained) and you think he just “keeps being given a go”.

    yeah, let’s go for something different like promoting some nobody from the under 18’s coaching staff or bringing in an experience winner like Grayson as that worked fabulously well.

    What exactly does his playing record with us or anyone else have to do with his ability to manage a football club?

    This is exactly where the problem lies. We can't seem to separate Teflon the player from Teflon the Manager. Bryan Robson would have managed Man Utd for the past 20 years if his playing career was the measurement being used. Bobby Charlton for the 20 years before that....DOH!

    Not a rumour at all but Chris Martin looks like he has been released at Derby probably heading for division one but there are plenty of players who are going to have to drop wage demands drastically as we approach the new season
