Thats stretching it a bit..mccarten, riley, gibson and longbridge never played anyway regardless of injury.

2nd in the league on 8th november probably even later due to no game for a fortnight. Regardless of performances we were doing something right.

The doyle/vaughan/reeves shitshow come december and january buggered us up not the injuries

 

Donaldson injury was the main one Devitt was going to be our playmaker at one point Pritchard Connolly and Palmer were out together and 10 players in total it would have finished teams with smaller squads

 

We had the third highest budget (despite people always saying there's no investment)

 

And less seals.

 

Our defence conceded 40 goals. Joint 7th lowest in the league. Pretty good actually. We were 14th on goals scored. That's the main problem area. This hasnt been resolved but perhaps Stuarts style of play may cause both stats to move !

 

This could well have legs.
The present position at Cheltenham would suggest that for any deal to be struck they would have to get rid of someone.
The player is aware and is basically thankful to them for letting him train and play to keep in shape.
Their manager stressed he's not a trialist.Cheltenham have a player injured so it's a case of helping each other out nothing more.
If City want him there shouldn't be any problem.

Matty Blair would be a great signing in my view.

Utility - tick. Very valuable players to have around, especially when injuries and suspensions happen. Even sending offs within games.

Experience - tick. You need players who have been there, seen it, done it. He’s played 400 career games. That experience is invaluable. Think of Gary Liddle when he signed for us - a similar number of games and he was key for us.

He’s also spent the last 8-9 years in League 1 & 2, including two promotions that I can see - he will know exactly what it’s all about, especially on those difficult wet Tuesday nights.

If he was at Doncaster then I guess he lives locally too. Bring it on I say.

Apparently he lives somewhere down towards Coventry.

 

He home is in Coventry though and I believe he expressed an interest in moving closer

 

If the only stumbling block is the commute he could always have a word with Vaughan......

 

1.5 hours from Coventry to Cheltenham
2 hours from Coventry to Bradford.

 

Cheltenham is a much nicer part of the country than Bradford. Finished higher in the league than us, well run club. I'd be going there if I was him.

 

Blinking good festival too.

 

These players don't tend to live in Bradford CC or surrounding though. Harrogate, Ilkley, Menston...even out in the sticks. They only need to go to Bradford to play.

 

Problem is that Cheltenham have a full squad and need to offload someone first if they want to sign him.
