Rhodes is running the finances of the club the way Rupp wants him to. They bought the club because how it was being run. The budget this year is a good one because of the surpluses hopefully it will be the same next year. Rupp is not going to Put anymore of his money in. It’s up to the football side to start delivering then perhaps we will have the money to do other things. Before the takeover we had four years of progress

Look I know in Fordy world everything is black and white, but as I say Rupp will have no doubt told Rhodes what are his plans, unfortunately we are not privy to these. Therefore, as a CEO you can only be ambitious as the owner will allow. Try that concept on for size!

To be fair to Rhodes, he has come back and steadied the ship internally after Rahic upset everybody that worked at the club.

Rhodes did also have a new CEO lined up, but whoever it was, received a better offer for a more lucrative job elsewhere, and ended up not coming.

For me, Rhodes has done what he said he would do to assist Rupp. Whoever was responsible for recruitment in the last two windows has a lot to answer for though, building a lop sided side, with glaring omissions like a ball winning central midfield player and not playing to Doyle's strengths at the beginning of the season.

And this is how he should run it. Financial stability with a level of risk based on future income/outgoing projections.

They know what the books look like right now, they know what is projected for the rest of this year and next year as income and outgoings and from those numbers they will formulate a level of risk they are willing to accept.

    Standard business practice

I don’t know what more we expect.

Give over, he never meant the first one. As for a decent striker, I don't mind him.

Doyle was always going to be out the door because of the wages he was on and thus the signing of Vaughan. And he was only brought back in January to extract money from Swindon

I agree it's Saturday at home against Plymouth that is the important game
Although Doyles phenomenal goal scoring rate has come an abrupt end since he returned others have taken up his role making Swindon look a very strong shout to be Champions of League Two.

    Not exactly a fan of Rahic however;

Number of relegations: Rhodes 4 - Rahic 0
Number of administrations: Rhodes 2 - Rahic 0

Balance that with a promotion two playoffs a major cup final and a great FA run and win and the last four years of progression

I think you're being a little naive. I am no fan of Rahic and am pleased that he has no involvement with our club and would have have preferred had his past involvement never happened. But JR is not immune from criticism. He has form in the decline of our club. He was a director of the club when we entered the first administration and it was his agreement to GR's device in paying themselves a whopping dividend from a loss making club which helped to precipitate Admin 1. When he and Gibb were running it jointly, it was JR's actions which pushed us automatically into Admin 2 despite there being sufficient funds to have avoided what happened. It was JR who left it literally to the 11th hour before making an offer to buy the club at a knock down price from the liquidator after having nearly £14m of loans, creditors etc written off and allowing fans to raise funds to keep it going while he bided his time and waited to buy it. Imo, JR is a smart guy and will have his own agenda once again.

And what really stabilised the club wasn't really JR although I agree that his experience from earlier crises was helpful. What really kept the wolves from the door was financial - the windfalls we received initially from the Wells and Wisdom sell-on deals and then the McBurnie sell-on.Together they were our lifeblood. So let's not be painting JR as some kind of miracle worker.

    Bronco please forgive me

    Kettle black?

Didn’t a large number here use the ‘Win’ percentage of McCall to in part justify his appointment?

Rhodes was in change of the last two transfer windows.

As for finding this new CEO who got a better offer.. when was that November? And how do we know it's true? So while we wait Rhodes is getting paid by the club and more than likely getting bonuses?

@Bronco@Bronco likes individuals rather than the club I get that but I would think that you think about the club 1st.

Rhodes has even hired Ryan to do his dirty work and talk to fans. It's a joke.. he needs to leave now, to enable this club to move forward and get with the times!

Not forgetting it was Jr who introduced his family money into the club which gave us the best two or three years of our existence. Acknowledging that his negligence contributed to the first admin I believe for the club the second admin was unavoidable although I feel sorry for the creditors of the time. From that time on I don’t think there would have been a club without him. And when he got help the club moved forward. And it has been well known during the whole time the club was open for offers and we only had a mad Italian and the Germans interested

I wasn’t, however to compare him to a man who has ripped this club apart is disingenuous. I remember the first admin Rhodes said at the time that he trusted GR and did not question his decisions. What your saying is that he was deceitful or a liar? The second admin I couldn’t work out what was going on, he didn’t get on with Gibb, but it was clear the financial plan agreed in the first admin was going pair shaped.

You can call me naive if you like that is your view fair enough.
However, we have had two Chairmen who haven’t put a penny into the coffers Geoffrey Richmond, he borrowed the money to pay for the club and paid it back out if the club’s revenue. Rahic who also was supposed to be buying a small share, but ended up borrowing money off Rupp and goodness knows how much he took out of the club.
Yes Rhodes is not without fault, and at times questioned his decision making.
